Peanut Butter Trifle

  5.0 – 4 reviews  • Trifle Recipes

This is something I quickly threw together. If you enjoy Reese’s®, you will adore this dish because it tastes exactly like one. By combining fat-free cool whip and sugar-free pudding, you may even make this dish relatively low in fat.

Prep Time: 30 mins
Additional Time: 6 hrs
Total Time: 6 hrs 30 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 1 trifle

Ingredients

  1. 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  2. 4 cups cold milk
  3. 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  4. 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed, divided
  5. 1 (14.4 ounce) package graham crackers
  6. 20 miniature chocolate covered peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Pour each package of pudding mix into a separate bowl. Add 2 cups cold milk to each bowl and whisk for 2 minutes. Set one bowl of chocolate pudding aside. Stir peanut butter and 1 cup whipped topping into the second bowl.
  2. Place a layer of graham crackers in the bottom of a trifle dish. Spread 1/3 of the chocolate pudding on top, top with 1/3 of the chocolate-peanut butter pudding, and layer with more graham crackers. Repeat layers 2 more times. Spread remaining frozen whipped topping on top and decorate with extra graham crackers and peanut butter cups.
  3. Chill until pudding is firm and graham crackers have fluffed up, 6 hours to overnight.
  4. The graham crackers will fluff up and taste like cake after being in the refrigerator.

Great recipe! Fast and easy! I fixed this for a family reunion, so I used the adjustment for 30 servings. I also used skim milk instead of whole milk to lower the fat content some. Will know tomorrow if everyone likes it or not.

Made as directed regarding ingredients – just put everything in a 9×13 cake pan using single layers. EVERYONE LOVED IT!

Delicious, showy dessert! I used sugar-free chocolate pudding and sugar-free Cool Whip due to diet restrictions in the family. The dish was well received! I will definitely make this again and again!!!
