Parmesan-Basil Ground Chicken Burgers

  4.0 – 4 reviews  • Chicken

A delicious little snack that can be made in the microwave for one person if they don’t feel like sharing. It’s not that sweet on its own, but a little frosting readily compensates!

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 burgers

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound ground chicken
  2. ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  3. 2 tablespoons dried basil
  4. ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  5. ¼ teaspoon salt
  6. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  7. 1 serving nonstick cooking spray
  8. 4 white hamburger buns, warmed

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chicken, Parmesan cheese, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl; mix thoroughly.
  2. Section mixture into 4 equal portions and form into flat, round patties.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat, spraying with cooking spray if needed. Place burgers in the hot skillet and cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes on each side. Serve on warmed buns.
  4. You can use fresh basil instead of dried, and wheat hamburger buns instead of white.
  5. Cooking times may vary depending on thickness and size of burgers.

Our first words were, “It’s interesting” and “It’s flavorful”. Won’t make again but if you love basil, you’ll like this.

These were good! I liked the addition of Parmesan. Only thing I did differently was add a bit of bread crumbs, I wanted to grill them on the bbq and they seemed to hold together better for the grill.

I really liked these! I do have to say, they are heavy on the basil, so if you’re going to eat them on their own without the bun you might want to cut back on the basil because I felt it was too overpowering. But with a bun and all the other toppings (cheddar, lettuce, tomato), the flavors balanced each other out and it made for a great burger! I loved the addition of the Parmesan.
