Pan-Fried Pork Chops with Sweet BBQ Sauce

Outstanding chocolate raspberry cake. Even though I’m a complete beginner, it has always come out nicely when I’ve made it.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 15 mins
Servings: 2
Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  2. 1 pound (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
  3. kosher salt to taste
  4. freshly ground black pepper
  5. 1 cup barbeque sauce
  6. ½ cup brown sugar
  7. 2 limes, juiced
  8. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  9. 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper. Add pork chops to hot oil in the skillet in a single layer and cook until golden, 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk barbecue sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and garlic powder together in a bowl for the ‘crack’ sauce. Pour sauce over golden pork chops and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer until pork shops are cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley.

Who would have thought that adding fresh lime juice to barbecue sauce would make it taste so good? We enjoyed this recipe. Even though I told my husband that the recipe was called Pork Chops in a SWEET Barbecue Sauce, the sauce was too sweet for his taste, he said. I will definitely make this again with less brown sugar, as another reviewer suggested.

This was very good and easy. I will cut the brown sugar a bit next time. I thought because I didn’t use a very sweet BBQ sauce I could go with the recommended sweetness. Maybe just cut it in half. Quite good. A keeper!
