Make it the night before, and the next morning you can enjoy a cold, creamy, delectable, and healthful breakfast. Similar to the Kashi® bowls, but considerably less complicated and expensive.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
  2. 1 tablespoon oat bran
  3. 1 tablespoon quick-cooking oats
  4. 1 tablespoon cooked brown rice
  5. 12 raisins, or more to taste
  6. ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. ½ cup soy milk, or more as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix ground flax seeds, oat bran, quick-cooking oats, brown rice, raisins, and cinnamon together in a container with a lid. Pour in soy milk; stir to make sure flaxseed mixture is suspended in milk.
  2. Cover and refrigerate until oats soften, at least 6 hours. Uncover and stir before serving.
  3. Substitute almond milk or cow’s milk for the soy milk if desired.

This is good. It was a nice combo of ingredients. I used almond milk, as that’s what I prefer. I thought it needed a topping, so I sprinkled with cinnamon and added pecans.
