Overnight Caramel Gingerbread Oats

This ordinary overnight oats recipe is transformed into the tastes of fall by using a high-protein beverage like Premier Protein® Salted Caramel and Gingerbread. I believe blending the flavors by soaking the spices overnight, therefore I advise waiting to add the majority of the spices until right before serving.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon butter
  2. ¼ pear, chopped
  3. 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  4. ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  5. 6 ounces caramel-flavored protein shake (such as Premier Protein®)
  6. ½ cup rolled oats
  7. 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  8. ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat. Saute pear, walnuts, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until pear softens, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Combine protein drink and oats in a small Mason jar. Mix in cooled pear and walnuts. Seal and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.
  3. Add pumpkin spice, ginger, and remaining cinnamon to the oats the following morning. Stir to combine.
