Oat and Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies

Your house will smell divine and your tummy will be growling after making these straightforward chocolate chip bar cookies. If you want to add even more protein crunch, you can add walnuts or pecans, but I actually prefer this recipe without them.

  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  3. ½ teaspoon salt
  4. 1 cup softened butter
  5. ¾ cup white sugar
  6. ¾ cup brown sugar

  8. 2 eggs
  9. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  10. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  11. 2 cups rolled oats

These bar cookies have a very nice flavor and I love the flavor of the chocolate, oats & pecans. However, my bars were very dry. I would suggest cutting the oats from 2 cups to 1-1/2.

Easy and tasty, I used mixed nuts in this and it worked well. Took these to church and they were gobbled up Next time, I think I would prefer peanut butter or butterscotch chips… but they are great this way
