Ingredients
- Deselect All
- Three 3-ounce packets cranberry flavored gelatin
- Two 14-ounce cans whole cranberry sauce
- One 8-ounce can crushed pineapple, drained
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 orange
Instructions
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then remove from the heat. Stir in the gelatin until completely dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. Add 1 cup cold water, the cranberry sauce and pineapple. Mix well, ensuring you break apart any large chunks of the cranberry sauce. Pour into a 9-by-13-inch pan. Cover and place in the refrigerator until firm, 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
- Beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar with a hand mixer until smooth, about 1 minute. Add the milk and mix until completely combined. The frosting should be thick but still pourable. Carefully spread the cream cheese frosting in a thin layer over the cranberry sauce. Zest the orange directly over the frosting. Serve up in individual squares.

This is a family favorite now! We made it after seeing it the first time and now we can’t have a holiday meal without it! We double up the topping just because and nobody complains! When we can’t find cranberry jello we use cherry jello.
I used cherry jello as I couldn’t find cranberry. I also used jellied cranberries as we don’t like the chunks. This is an amazing recipe. People who have never at them gobbled this up. It’s now all I’ll use.
This is the best cranberry sauce but it is more of a salad. I put the cranberries in the blender. Much easier to eat. Take it to large family gatherings and it is always one of the first things gone
Can’t wait to make this. I was able to find a 4-pack of cranberry jello on Amazon
I’m more concerned with getting the squares out of the 9×13 without scratching up my pan. I want to put oversized parchment paper in pan so I can pull out of pan to cut squares. Worried it could be a problem with jello layer. Any comments on whether this will work or not?
yes I’m in the process of making it. No cranberry jello. I used unflavored jello and water. followed the recipe and put it it in the refrig. i don’t know if it will set or not. crossing my fingers. You gals didn’t give the the ratio of ingredients , How much unflavored jello there are 4 small packs in the box. I used 3.
Beautiful dish Ms. Ree. Hope you and your family continue to be blessed for many many years. Thanks for all you do for so many. Love you all and thank you so much Ms. Nan, we miss you.
Thanks for those who said they replaced cranberry gelatin with cherry or real berry! I want to make it this year and was panicked!
People – simple solution for the topping. Whip softened cream cheese and fold in one or two cups of whipped cream to your liking. Can also add some chopped nuts before serving
This is a family favorite now. I make it at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and my whole family loves it, even my 2 and 5 year old. I can never find cranberry jello so I replace with cherry, and it is great.
