This cocktail is a nod to Muay Thai kickboxing, but it packs only a mild punch. It calls for SangSom Thai rum, a slightly fruity, lightly spiced spirit that’s credited with rarely causing hangovers — good news if you go a few rounds!

Ingredients

  1. 2 ounces Thai rum
  2. 2 ounces fresh orange juice
  3. 1 ounce pineapple juice
  4. 1/2 ounce blackstrap rum
  5. 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  6. 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  7. 2 dashes grenadine
  8. Orange and lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the Thai rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, blackstrap rum, lime juice, simple syrup and grenadine in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a short ice-filled glass.
  2. Garnish with orange and lime wedges.
  3. Simple Syrup
  4. Heat equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Let cool.
