My boys adore it! It moves quickly and easily! I’m frequently asked to bring this to family gatherings and Super Bowl® parties!

Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen garlic bread
- 2 (24 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
- 40 Italian-style frozen meatballs
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Heat garlic bread with spread side up on a baking sheet in the preheated oven until warm and golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bring spaghetti sauce to a boil in a large pot. Place frozen meatballs into sauce. Reduce heat to low and simmer until meatballs are heated through, about 20 minutes.
- Tear garlic bread into bite-size pieces and spread into bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour spaghetti sauce and meatballs over garlic bread, coating bread with sauce and distributing meatballs evenly. Spread mozzarella cheese over top in a layer, followed by a layer of Parmesan cheese.
- Bake casserole until cheese has melted, 20 to 25 minutes.
- When using packaged frozen, pre-sliced garlic toast, I usually need 2 boxes. I have also used the frozen garlic bread with cheese, and it is great!

I made this the first time following the recipie and yes, my garlic bread was mush. Tonight I put the casserole together differently. I put the meatballs and sauce in the bottom. Covered those with cheese. Covered everyting with the cut up bread and then covered that with cheese. Perfect.
Quick and easy meal that the whole family loved. Because of the soggy bread comments, I added a small can of Tomato paste to thicken up the sauce. It also helps, not to use the cheaper, watery spaghetti sauces.
I agree wholeheartedly with McCrearyacres, that was complaining about soggy bread, yuck. Will make again, but will follow the advice of eating with bread, not cooked on top of it
I made this recioe using Prego traditional pasta sauce and it turned out awesome! I worried about the bread being soggy as some other reviews mentioned but I think the thickness of the sauce and oven toasting bread til crispy prevented that from happening. It was almost the same as slicing a lasagna! I added green pepper & green onions. Highly recommend!
This unfortunately turned out really gloopy and i just ate the spaghetti
I put half of the bread on top and flipped it to avoid the bread getting soggy!
Turned out great! My littles loved it! I kept the garlic bread separate in fear of it being too soggy.
Cut the bread up half way thru then cook till crispy(almost like croutons but not quite) then top with the stuff
Would keep the bread separate until the end so it doesn’t get soggy but it was definitely a hit. Kids loved it, even the picky one.
I made this Christmas Eve. It was a big hit – even with my husband who isn’t real big on meatballs!
So easy and really yummy! my family loves meatball sandwiches… this was so much easier and tasted great!!
This was quite good. I made homemade meatballs from Chef John’s Meatball-Stuffed Garlic Bread Sliders recipe, and baked them at 400° for 12 minutes. After baking, I dropped them into a pot of warming Bertoli marinade. I baked the garlic bread according to the directions on the package. On a plate, I placed a slice of toast and topped with meatballs and sauce. I added some parmesan cheese.
TL;DR It’s an easy recipe to make however I think if it was broken down into it’s two main components it would be better. You know there’s something there that is good but I don’t think it’s for me. It’s very heavy, like a casserole should be yes, however 3 bites in and I’m done. I used Ragul for the sauce but it turned out very sweet so I have to balance it out with something salty along side it. I feel like if I just coated the garlic bread with the Parmesan and Mozzarella and dipped that in the sauce instead it would work better.
This was good! The kids liked it a lot!
It was great. My husband rarely eats leftovers but he did with this!
I had frozen mini meatballs in my freezer so decided to try this. I liked it and found it easy to make with some added onions, garlic and herbs to the sauce before including the meatballs. I should have taken Heather’s advice and roasted the bread first. The bread does turn soggy. I would make it again but will roast the bread first.
I wouldn’t cook this as a casserole! Cook the garlic bread separately & the sauce, meatballs, cheese together. After it’s done put the garlic bread on a plate and serve sauce over it!! Or tear up the bread and pour sauce over it. Makes it perfect.
This was very simple and very quick to make. my whole family enjoyed it.
We did individual versions because I had some homemade bread to use up and we couldn’t do meatball subs. I ripped the bread up first and put pats of butter and minced garlic on top and microwaved that to melt the butter. Then mixed the bread and butter around to absorb all of it.
It was flavorful but the bread got super soggy. The gross texture outweighed the good taste for us. My boyfriend suggested maybe using croutons instead of the garlic bread IF I made this again… but I don’t think I’ll be trying this again.
I made it according to the recipe. I found it was too much sauce, soggy bread and not as good as I thought it was going to be. Won’t make it again.
