Followed the recipe as is. Just added 2 ounces pineapple juice. Tasty. Healthy. Delicious. Thanks!
Great! Used cod, added tomatoes and onions and left out orange slices. Would definitely make again!
Great base recipe for ceviche. Made a few times. I like changing up the fish/vegetable ratio and leaving out the oranges just based on personal tastes, but i found this to be a great starting place.
Excellent
I used everything, except the Jalapeño pepper. I couldn’t find any; so instead of salt, I replaced it with Jalapeño salt. Being from Florida, now living in Oklahoma, I grew up eating a lot of Cuban, Jamaican and Caribbean dishes; so I am a fan of spices. I added Orange Peel, ‘Slap ya Mama’ spice and a dash of the Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.
Used crab and shrimp instead of fish. Awesome!
I used frozen(thawed) mahi mahi-it was excellent. reccomend an avocado that is on the “firmer” side and I added a couple tbl spoons of red onion. I will definitely make again.
I will have to cook the Maui Maui in the cervechi
I’ve been looking for the right Ceviche recipe. This was excellent. I followed the recipe exactly and it was a hit! Thanks, Chef John!
I made it with shrimp and green onions. Doubled everything but the lemon and lime. It’s delicious!
We liked this recipe. My first time making ceviche. It was just a little too acidic for my taste, otherwise it was very tasty. I made this pretty much exactly as directed. I did drain most of the lime/lemon juice before mixing the rest of the ingredients. I also used an unripe or hard avocado so it would hold up better.
Love! Love! Love this ceviche! I’ve made it several times and this last time I added 1/3 cup of juice from a juice orange and it added a nice touch.
Thank you, Chef John! This ceviche was delicious!
I have made this recipe many times, sometimes tweaking just a bit, and it’s always the best. I’ve used mahi mahi and halibut and also adding scallops at times. the best!
Very good, great with Tostitos scoops.
This was fabulous. I prefer this type of fish to others I have tried. It’s just right tender, but not chewy like scallops or shrimp tend to be. I cut down on the radish.
Civiche was bomb!
Awesome! Came out perfect! Our first attempt with cerviche 🙂
Made no changes, but I sliced everything a lot smaller than the pictures on here. Make sure you get a firm avocado so the chunks don’t fall apart when you mix the ingredients.
Loved it.. left out the orange…
I used fresh albacore tuna I found on sale at Whole Foods for $8 a lb. I used a whole jalapeño, minced, about twice as much as called for, but thought it could have used more. A wonderful dish, easy to prepare, can make it several hours before serving except for mixing the last parts in. We loved it!
