The texture of this strawberry and cream cheese pound cake is excellent. Due to the addition of fresh strawberries, it also needs less sugar than other recipes.

Yield: 6 dozen

Ingredients

  1. 9 tablespoons butter, softened
  2. ½ cup white sugar
  3. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  4. 3 egg whites
  5. 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  6. 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  7. 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg whites one at a time until batter is light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla. Mix in the flour just until blended. Dough will be a little stiff.
  3. Using a cookie press or a pastry bag with a medium star tip, press dough onto prepared baking sheet into 3-inch lengths, like a ladyfinger.
  4. Bake cookies in preheated oven until straw-colored, about 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
  5. When cookies are cool, dip one end of each cookie in melted chocolate and place on wax paper until chocolate hardens. Store in a cool place.

It does need flavor to the cookie and the chocolate, but other wise pretty decent cookie

I made a few changes that worked out nicely, I added 1/3 cup of white sugar and brown sugar (lightly packed) and used 10 tbsp of butter, I also used 1 cup of flour instead, the cookies spread out more and were a lot more crisp with this ratio, its also a little less chalky.

I will make is again…everyone that tried it loved it. Good recipe and easy to follow directions to make it!

Tasted good but didn’t spread out very wide. They looked like flat lady fingers but overall were good. Tasted better the first day than the second.

I did like the minimal ingredients.Good flavor and not too sweet.they came out a tad hard, not chewy as pictured…

These came out just I had hoped they would! I added a little bit of matcha green tea to mine. You can dip them in chocolate afterward.

It was too chalky for my liking. But otherwise it was alright

This was an AMAZING recipe. Made it for my family and friends and they just LOVED it!

I enjoyed this recipe and so did my family. I drizzled chocolate instead of dipping, and I created a variation using lemon extract and lemon icing for the drizzle. They were a huge hit! I love this recipe but, I did find that the cookies became spongy after only one night! Any Tips?

Very good! I didn’t have the right size pastry tip, but we made do.

This recipe was great. Thanks 🙂

I typically make these without the chocolate, but I like them both ways. My boyfriend absolutely adores these. He thinks they taste like Nilla wafers, but to be honest, I like these cookies more. Everyone I’ve made these for has liked them so far. This recipe is a winner as far as I’m concerned.

These cookies were great! They were quick and easy to make and they look fantastic if you use a cookie press. I did dip them in chocolate, but the only thing was that the actual cookie part was a little lacking in flavor. I would suggest to others to add a bit more vanilla or something when you make them. But, overall, a great recipe!

Very easy recipe. I decided not to dip them in chocolate because I prefer a less rich cookie. They are perfect with espresso – French, of course 🙂

The cookies turned out good. They don’t taste like sugar cookies though, more like shortbread. My chocolate chips started to cool before I got all the cookies dipped and then the cookie would break when I tried to pull it out f the chocolate. I would suggest adding something like butter to the chocolate chips to thin it out.

This recipe is excellent! I got a lot of compliments. I used a cookie press and they looked like store-bought cookies. Caution if you use a press add flour. A pastry brush helps apply the chocolate. This recipe is quick and easy.

I’ve gotten many compliments on this cookie. Instead of vanilla extract, I used maple flavoring. It’s been a hit so far.

These weren’t the tastiest, but look rather impressive.
