For a mouthwatering keto side dish, these green beans with garlic-seasoned seasoning are sautéed till crisp-tender and topped with cheese and bacon. Use your preferred flavor on the beans, and for variety, try a different cheese. My preference for homemade cheese is that it melts better than store-bought cheese.

Ingredients
- 6 ounces center-cut bacon, cut into small pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter, or as needed
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Cook bacon in an oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat until brown and crispy, 5 to 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving bacon grease in the skillet. Reduce heat to medium and add enough butter to equal 2 tablespoons of fat in the skillet.
- Add green beans to the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with garlic powder, toss to coat, and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add water to help steam the beans. Continue cooking until water has evaporated and beans are crisp-tender or cooked to your liking, 3 to 4 more minutes.
- Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler.
- Top beans with shredded Cheddar cheese and sprinkle with cooked bacon.
- Place skillet under broiler until cheese has melted, about 1 minute. Serve immediately.

I absolutely enjoyed preparing this for my client’s daughter birthday dinner tonight.
Awesome. I will now eat green beans!
Wow. This was yummy!! I made this on the grill because ….summer is nearly over up here and I have to cram my grilling in. I grilled my turkey bacon on the grill and then cooked up the beans. I thought it was delicious!
I made these beans and it was nice, but I didn’t have to put in oven due to the heat from the beans was enough to melt the cheese and was very tasty to eat.
It was a good alternative to the old green bean casserole but I wish I had just steamed the beans instead of frying.
I just sautéd the string beans and fresh garlic in olive oil. When almost done to my liking, I removed them to bowl, sautéd the bacon until crispy and removed to paper towel. I then put string beans back in skillet, added the crisped bacon bits and topped w fresh extra sharp cheddar. A twist of the pepper mill and I’m all set for a tasty light supper!
