Ingredients
- 8 cups water
- 1 pound raw Virginia peanuts in shells
- ⅓ cup salt
- 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere’s®)
- 1 tablespoon liquid crab boil seasoning
Instructions
- Place water, peanuts, salt, Creole seasoning, and liquid crab boil in a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and stir to combine. Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer’s instructions; set timer for 180 minutes. Allow 25 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer’s instructions, about 25 minutes. Unplug the cooker but keep the lid on. Let peanuts sit for 2 hours for maximum flavor.
- The peanuts are done at the 3 hour 50-minute mark but I highly recommend waiting the additional 2 hours for maximum flavor.
- Nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of salt. The actual amount of salt consumed will vary.

Added more Cajun spice
Made as written these are excellent. No sweet taste at all as there is no sugar. Make sure to let them sit the extra 2 hours to soften and soak in the flavor.
I followed the directions exactly. They turned a lil sweet, not very salty or cajun but ok mild flavor. I had to cook them an extra 2hrs & add salt plus some cajun seasoning, but we like them softer & salty personal preference. As a first timer very easy recipe to start & learn with.
