This was disgusting. Salty AF.

A nice twist on street tacos – one of my favorite foods that I’m so tempted to get every time I drive by one of the many taco trucks in town! The Impossible burger will definitely fool the biggest carnivore in your life! I sauteed the “meat” in some olive oil (instead of dry in the pan) for 5 minutes before adding in the onion, and then added in the garlic during the last minute. 10 minutes total was perfect. Because the “meat” is a little more dry than real beef, next time I would top the tacos off with one of the traditional street taco sauces like salsa verde or salsa roja. I only used 1 TEAspoon of salt and that was plenty… 1.5 TABLEspoons would have been way too salty for me. I also used street taco sized (mini) tortillas (instead of medium size) to keep things more authentic. Bonus, you end up with 10-12 tacos instead of 6! I prefer corn tortillas, but went with the flour tortillas to make it as written. Next time I would omit the tomato and just do traditional cilantro and onion. Coming from a big meat eater, I would definitely make these again!

This was a fairly quick, easy recipe to throw together for a recent Taco Thursday dinner party for 6 people. However, I believe there is a typo in the salt. It was FAR too much salt. 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon is more than enough. I do not recommend using the 1 1/2 tablespoons that it says to use – it’s likely supposed to be 1 1/2 teaspoons, but I feel like that’s still too much. Otherwise, it was easy and flavorful. We added just a pinch of chili powder and a tablespoon of worcesteshire sauce to ours and it was awesome.

Very easy and delicious. I have made them a good number of times

The recipe is over salted.

These tacos are delicious! I could not find queso fresco at my local grocery store so I just used shredded Mexican blend cheese instead. What I love about this dish is that you can get creative with your toppings and it still come out very tasty.

No matter what, you should NEVER eat fake meat. Substitute with the real deal and you have a 5 star meal. Will make in the future for sure.

Fantastic! The Impossible Burger cooked up wonderfully and has such great flavor! I used the little street taco tortillas and they were gone in a flash! I omitted the onion and used parsley instead of cilantro. We loved these and will make again for taco Tuesday or any day!

I was a little nervous about trying this product. We definitely love meat around here! I was VERY pleasantly surprised, though. honestly, I feel like if someone else prepared this and served it to me, I wouldn’t have known it was not ground beef. we enjoyed this very much. I thought the recipe called for too much salt but added the amount called for. it was actually perfect. I suggest making this exactly according to the recipe. it is very good!!

I think Impossible Burger definitely doesn’t taste like ground beef, but the texture and look sure is close. These street tacos are a great way to eat it. I’m wondering if the salt amount is an error–I only used 1 teaspoon. I think some additional seasoning like chili powder, paprika and cayenne would help mask the taste that it’s not ground beef. Overall, they were good with the toppings.

This was really good and surprisingly if I didn’t know it wasn’t meat based, I would have no clue. The cooking, smell and even taste was delicious. As if I made my normal meat based version. This recipe was really good and seasoning was just right.

Delicious. I wanted to make bowls so I used corn tortillas instead.. Love Impossible Burger better than beef!

Super easy recipe that tastes great!

Definitely, as other readers said, add fat when cooking the Impossible Burger (I recommend ghee or olive oil and additional minced garlic). While our family are definitely meat-eaters (I’d make my tacos most often with venison or grass-fed beef), these are a great option for serving guests with food sensitivities or preferences. I used cauliflower flatbreads which are a bit smaller, which made for perfect three-bite tacos, perfect for a taco bar! Definitely use the recommended cheese for authentic street taco vibes, (took us right back to Taco Bus in St. Pete, Florida!) and lots of lime!

I made these for an easy dinner for my family before heading off to practice with my daughter thinking we would have whatever the guys left us for our dinner. I put a couple tacos together and snapped a quick pic and left. We came home to no tacos. While different from our usual tacos, they are still tacos. I made these as written, subbing corn tortillas for flour

My youngest son loves trying out plant-based options and this was my first time working with Impossible Burger. I thought these tacos were delicious! The simple seasonings made it taste like regular taco meat. And the consistency was very close to ground beef. The simple and fresh toppings (tomato, cilantro and a squeeze of lime) were the perfect finishing touch. It was a quick and easy recipe that I will absolutely be making again. My son was impressed!

These were AMAZING! It was our first time trying the Impossible burger “meat.” We are big meat eaters who are trying to add more vegetarian meals to our diet, so I wasn’t sure how my husband and young daughter would like it. But these tacos got rave reviews from both. My husband said he kept forgetting it wasn’t even beef. The flavors for these tacos work well together. I’ll definitely add this to my growing list of vegetarian favorites.

Not going to lie I was skeptical about trying this product but I was shocked at how good it tasted. The flavors were good and surprisingly the texture was exactly like meat. The tacos were a bit dry, I did not have the correct cheese on hand so I used cheddar cheese. Delicious! Definitely going to make this again as we are trying to eat healthier and less ground beef. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!

I thought this was pretty good but hubby and granddaughter refused to eat it. They said the ‘meat’ tasted weird. Had I told them it was plant based they would have never even tried it. If I was to ever make this again, I would use corn tortillas, since I have never had a street taco in a flour tortilla.

This was my first time to try Impossible burger and it was quite impressive. Not only in flavor but in texture as well. I have tried the other popular brand and Impossible wins hands down! I salted as I went and ended up only adding a teaspoon. I used street taco size tortillas and went with flour but will go back to corn next time since that is how they serve them in my area and what we prefer. My husband and I are big meat eaters and big taco eaters and we both agreed this is one we will be making again.

These are super easy to make. If you make your own tortillas, make sure they aren’t thick (or the ones with baking powder). Lettuce, tomato, sour cream – all good additions and cheese inside the chimichanga would also be good.
