I think the recipe is accidentally wrong. If you check, all other cocoa recipes have double the sugar of cocoa. I reduced the cocoa to 1 tablespoon and added 1 tbsp of sugar. Perfect!

I tried it for my husband for work cause he does snow removal and I thought sending him with some nice hot chocolate would be nice. Well I did it just like ree said and it was awful!! I even played around with it and it was nasty know matter what I did! Ree hasn’t disappointed me until now!! Do not recommend this recipe!

If you like dark chocolate you can drink the recipe as is, but since I was making this for kiddos and I added another tablespoon of sugar to make it more palatable for younger tastebuds.

Really cute idea.  Decided to make several for nieces and nephews for Christmas.  Bought the ingredients, jars, and tags.  Decided  to try for myself before giving it to them – glad I did.  Did not mix well, and flavor much too bittersweet for the kids.  Plan to play around with the recipe  the next few days to try to improve flavor and ability to mix well.
