Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 23 mins
Total Time: 38 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 fillets

Ingredients

  1. cooking spray
  2. 4 (4 ounce) skin-on salmon fillets
  3. ground black pepper to taste
  4. ¼ cup butter
  5. ⅓ cup olive oil
  6. ¼ cup white cooking wine
  7. ¼ cup crushed garlic
  8. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  9. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  10. 1 tablespoon onion salt
  11. 1 tablespoon ground mustard
  12. 3 dashes hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
  13. ¾ cup honey, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet; pierce with a fork several times. Season with black pepper.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Whisk olive oil, white cooking wine, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, onion salt, mustard, and hot pepper sauce into the melted butter; cook until heated through, about 5 minutes. Brush generously over the salmon fillets.
  4. Bake salmon fillets in the preheated oven, basting with butter mixture every 5 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 15 minutes. Coat each fillet with honey; continue baking until glazed, 3 to 5 minutes.

It was delicious, but I made it exactly like the recipe omitting the wine. I loved the honey glaze on it. i served it with meatballs, and corn on the cob My family loved it, it was a fairly easy dish.

Thank you Crystal! I haven’t seen my little ones ever eat salmon so fast! I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how this particular blend of ingredients would work together but WOW is all I can say. I also made the “mistake” of mixing the honey in and it was no problem and worked great. Try this one—it’s a keeper and sure to be in the regular rotation at our house!

It took me much longer to cook than 15 min+5 with the honey , but boy, was it worth the wait!!! I don’t like spicy either, so I replaced the Tabasco sauce with sweet red chilly peppers. It turned out fantastic anyway!

We actually mixed the honey into the butter mixture, but it came out phenomenal so that’s our tweak to the recipe. Put it over rice, and drank a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with it and was extremely satisfied. So we’re making it again.

I do not like salmon….but I could eat it fixed with this recipe. So….it has to be a very good recipe!

Well Crystal you were absolutely correct!!! Our taste buds danced while eating this!! Husband, kids (age 4&5) claimed how good this was. Great flavors. Aside from the ground mustard I followed the recipe exactly. I thought 1 Tablespoon of ground mustard would be to strong for the kids,so, I used 1 teaspoon ground mustard & 3/4 teaspoon prepared Dijon mustard and I also used regular white wine instead of cooking wine. I cooked the salmon in my cast iron skillet. Definitely will make again. Thank you.
