Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Combine evaporated milk, sugar, and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-low heat and whisk together. Heat to a simmer and cook until thick, 15 to 20 minutes.

I had evaporated milk but needed condensed milk for a recipe. Worked great.
Help! I’m not sure if this my fault, or a flaw in the recipe. I made it on a rainy day, and all appeared well as it cooked. But, it separated into a watery layer and a grainy-looking thicker layer as it cooled.
This is an excellent substitute! In fact it is so close to the real deal and at a fraction of the cost, I may never buy sweetened condensed milk again. This is awesome! Thanks nanny129!
