Homemade Salmon Sushi Rolls

  4.0 – 1 reviews

Making this homemade sushi is very easy and enjoyable! Those who might be hesitant to try sushi should definitely try this sushi! My entire family adores these as an appetizer as well! The majority of these ingredients can be bought at your neighborhood store, and the outcome is delicious! Wasabi powder and a bowl of soy sauce should be included.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins

Total Time: 1 hr 50 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 24 sushi rolls

Ingredients

  1. ⅔ cup water
  2. ⅓ cup medium-grain white rice, uncooked
  3. 6 tablespoons rice vinegar
  4. 4 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
  5. 4 ounces smoked salmon, cut into strips
  6. 2 ounces cold cream cheese, cut into thin strips
  7. 4 scallions, sliced into thin strips

Instructions

  1. Bring water and rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and water has been absorbed, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool, about 10 minutes. Toss with vinegar.
  2. Place 1 sheet of nori on a rolling mat, layer with 1/4 of the rice, and press rice out to the edges. Lay 1/4 of the salmon, 1/4 of the cream cheese, and 1/4 of the scallions in the center. Roll up carefully and wrap in plastic wrap. Repeat with remaining nori, rice, salmon, cream cheese, and scallions. Place in the refrigerator until chilled, at least 1 hour.
  3. Remove sushi rolls from the refrigerator, discard plastic wrap, and cut each roll into 6 slices. Layer all rolls on a platter.

I’m amazed at how easy it was to make this sushi roll. It’s not my normal go to at a restaurant, but easily modified. I did rinse the rice first, but otherwise followed the instructions. Thanks for the recipe!
