This halibut recipe is really moist! The sauce has a subtle spice and is deliciously rich without being overwhelming.

I double the amount of cayenne pepper because my diners like things spicy. People seemed to like the dish, but some preferred just butter and dill recipe.
This is a really delicious and easy recipe for halibut, and by far one of the best I’ve tried. I’ve made this several times now and will again
I have never rated a recipe. I am the official experimenter not a chef. This was amazing – we both loved it!
Very tasty and rich. Would make again
Excellent just as the recipes stands. I used the juice of 1 lemon, which was 2 tablespoons and it was perfect. I also did 1/2 cup of sharp cheddar and 1/2 cup of Parmesan. My fillets were super thick, about 2-2 1/2 inches thick, and I had to bake it for an extra 15 minutes. The edges turned nice and brown and crispy in my glass pan. This is definitely on the make again list!
We loved Tria!
This was a very easy recipe to follow and was delicious! I did not use the onions due to allergies and used my own Tex-Mex seasoning blend.
I tweeked this to my liking by adding half parmesan and the other half used extra sharp cheddar. Then added a little smoked paprika, some dill weed and a pinch of garlic… absolutely outstanding!
We loved it. Very easy to make and tastes GREAT. We are doing Keto for a while and this recipe is perfect for that as well. Highly recommended !
Made it twice!! Love it!
Didnt need to take the skin off fillets, just kept on bottom. Sprayed casserole dish with cooking spray first. Before adding the cheese mixture, I seasoned the halibut with salt, pepper and some Cajun spice, so the fish had enough flavor. I cooked for about 4 minutes extra to brown the cheese mixture on top on the fish, and to make sure the fish cooked through. Was delicious!
I use ‘white fish’ and often substitute LF Yogurt for the Sour Cream and always use LF Mayo. I also add extra minced onion. We LOVE this and have it often. I’ve also added a little curry instead of the cayenne for something a little different, or even garlic. MMMmmm!
So moist and tasty
This is a favorite new recipe in my line up. We brought halibut back from an Alaska fishing trip last fall and this recipe is perfect for it. I made one change the second time I made it, using Panko bread crumbs in lieu of the flour. It gave it a bit of crunch that we enjoyed.
This is really good and so simple! With or without changes it is a “winner, winner” per hubby. I liked the top texture with using equal cheddar and Parmesan. I used the onions and garlic, can’t go wrong with garlic. Next time (and there will be a next time) I’ll try the lower cal ingredients, I don’t think there will be much difference.
Best Halibut ever. Not at all dry. Didn’t change a thing.
Used oj and red pepper flakes because all I had. Good
This always turns out great! Like most everyone else I use substitutions depending on my pantry contents and mood, but the basics of the recipe are just what I need to guide me. The last time I made it I used onion powder and garlic powder instead of onions, Parmesan cheese on top instead of cheddar mixed in, and no flour to keep it low carb. It is also good with salmon instead of halibut! Thank you for posting this recipe.
The sauce that you put on top was delicious but the fish came out dry.
this was super easy and I will definitely make it again, we couldnt eat all that we made originally and when we warmed it up the next day it was just as good.
Great flavor and very moist! I only had one pound of halibut so I cut the recipe in half. The fish was done before the sauce was browned. I will adjust the timing next time.
