Grilled Pork Loin Chops

  4.7 – 500 reviews  • Boneless

An excellent marinade for grilled pork chops that is acidic, somewhat sweet, and very simple to make. The pork loin chops come out incredibly excellent and have a fantastic variety of flavors. You should definitely grill an additional chop so you have some for leftovers because you will definitely crave it the next day.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Additional Time: 4 hrs
Total Time: 4 hrs 35 mins
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  1. 3 tablespoons honey
  2. 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  3. 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  4. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 2 teaspoons ketchup
  7. ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  8. ½ teaspoon onion powder
  9. ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  10. ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  11. 2 (6 ounce) thick-cut boneless pork loin chops

Instructions

  1. Whisk honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ketchup, ginger, onion powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl.
  2. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
  3. Pour 1/2 of the marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add chops, coat with the marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator, turning occasionally, for 4 to 8 hours. Refrigerate remaining marinade in the bowl.
  4. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
  5. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  6. Remove pork chops from marinade and shake off excess. Discard the marinade from the plastic bag. Grill chops on the preheated grill, basting with some of the reserved marinade until meat is browned, no longer pink inside, and shows good grill marks, 8 to 10 minutes per side. A meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a chop should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
  7. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
  8. Pour remaining reserved marinade into a saucepan over medium heat, bring to a boil, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook marinade until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring constantly; serve sauce with chops.

  10. Teriyaki sauce can replace Worcestershire sauce with equally great results.
  11. Thick pork chops can be cut into kabob sizes and marinated in the fridge for about two hours. Put on skewers with veggies of choice; turn and baste as needed on a medium-temperature grill until done.

This marinade and the tips as written up is good. I kick up the garlic to 5 tablespoons and do not just mince it. Smash the cloves first and then chop gets oils released better. Also you can use Bourbon or Cinnamon Honey and get a more yumminess.

I made this as written and we absolutely loved it! Will definitely make it again and will try adding pineapple rings just for fun!

WONDERFUL! Going to try the marinade on some venison next!

I made this as described and it’s delicious. I marinated the pork loin chops for 5 hours. This marinate would be good for chicken as well. Very pleased.

My family absolutely loved this recipe. I didn’t change anything other than using a thinner cut pork loin chop. I was able to make 4 chops with the marinade. Thank you for the wonderful recipe. Will definitely add this to our rotation.

This is a fantastic marinade/sauce. I’ve read how people have cut the ginger amount and/or omitted the cinnamon . . . without having tried the recipe as is. I can only say I think they are shorting their flavor opportunities. I love it as printed and would definitely not reduce or delete those ingredients. I will be using this recipe for a whole host of other applications as marinade and/or sauce. I was curious if anyone knew how long you could store this as a reduced sauce . . . in the fridge or if anyone has tried making this in quantity and freezing it for future use?

I followed the recipe as written and thought it was delicious. The pork was moist and had a lovely taste. My husband grilled the chops about 10 minutes on each side. I made extra sauce and stir fred some broccoli and carrots as a side dish. Very enjoyable.

I cooked them in a cast iron skillet on medium high heat and they were delicious! My family loved them. Thank you for sharing.

Straight-forward and easy-to-follow recipe. Followed the advice of other reviewers and reduced the ginger by half; otherwise, I followed the recipe as written. It is a good grilling marinade. It turned out well, we liked the taste of our chops, and we’ll probably make this again.

I used the same marinade for lamb loin chops and it tasted amazing.

This is the best marinade for pork loin chops I’ve used so far. With the same amount of marinade, I marinated 6 one inch thick chops for five hours. I grilled these along with six chops marinated in something else. These turned out far more juicy and flavorful. I will be using this marinade often.

Chops came out juicy and tender, gather marinade added flavour to a pretty bland meat

This recipe is also great with chicken! I let it marinade over night and cook in the over at 400. This is one I make once a week and a family favorite. Thank you for the tasty recipe

What a great, interesting recipe! The amount of Worcestershire sauce surprised me, but it went so well with the cinnamon and ginger. It really brought out the tamarind of the Worcestershire. The flavour reminds me of something Hawaiian or southeast asian.

Easy and yummy!

Definitely 5 star!

This marinade is excellent. I marinated 2 chops for about 6 hours then barbecued them. The key to moist chops is to take them off the bbq when the internal temp is 145°. One of the best things I bought was a meat thermometer. I also reduced the marinade and used it in the cooked chops. It was delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe. It’ll be my go to for pork. (Wonder what it would be like with pork loin)

My family ate it all. So clearly we liked it. But overall we felt the marinade was overpowering. We could’ve been eating gator, chicken, etc and it probably would’ve tasted the same as the pork loin steaks I grilled.

Delicious and perfect on my thick boneless pork chops on the grill. We used the sauce to drizzle over our rice and veggies. Perfect!

The whole family liked it and that’s hard to do. Will make again for sure.
