I tried this recipe yesterday. I replaced half the ingredients because I thought it was a good idea, and I reduced the cooking time significantly because I’m impatient. Shockingly, because of the bad ingredients and the terrible cooking steps, it tasted so bad I couldn’t even finish it, so I will never try this recipe again.

I used about 3/4 cup of Apple Juice, 1/4 cup water, Cayenne Pepper, onions along with the rest of the ingredients. Also seasoned the pork chops with salt, pepper and oregano. Bakedvin oven for about 25 minutes at 400 degrees, then turned pork chops over and broiled for a couple of minutes. This was really good.

Glaze doesnt thicken what so ever, water thickens and caramelizes better

I made it exactly as written, and I found it to be much too sweet, with a rather bland profile. It’s a good basic sweet sauce, but needs jazzed up. The second time I made it, I cut down the oil by a TBS, added double the sesame, at least double the soy, and added a large bulb of minced garlic. Much happier with those results. Maybe next time I’ll use sesame oil instead of regular vegetable oil as well, and use white pepper instead of regular black.

Too sweet for my family.

Very good flavor. I substituted orange for the Apple juice because that’s what I had. I will make again.

Really love the flavor but you might want to use more corn starch / less water to make the glaze thicker. On the grill the glaze becomes watery using the recipe as-is.

I used pork chops with bones and we really liked the chops. I will definitely make these again.

Followed another reviewer – eliminated water and replaced half of apple juice with Southern Comfort (honey flavored). Amazing.

I used the recipe and I also left out the water.

This is very similar to the Honey Grilled Pork Chops. A little different flavor profile but so very good.

Made as directed but realized partway through putting this together that I didn’t have ginger. It still tasted good but I look forward to making this when I do have ginger. I think I’ll give this a try with chicken. Thanks for sharing this.

This is my second time using this recipe. Originally, I used it with pork chops. This time, I used it with chicken breasts. Same amazing outcome. The only thing I did differently was I mixed up as a marinade-left out the water and cornstarch and doubled soy sauce. I marinated the breasts for about six hours. They turned out tasty, tender and juicy. Another homerun from this recipe!

I’ve made these many times over the years and they’re my husband’s favorite dish of “mine”. I’ve also never used this as a marinade for grilled chops. I make the sauce just like the recipe, then add it to chops I’ve been sautéing and let it all cook for a few minutes. Then I drizzle it over the chops and mashed potatoes. Sometimes it’s too thin, other times too thick and almost jelly. But when I get it right, it’s the BEST. The chops are always so juicy and tender. Definitely recommend.

Here I go…..Didn’t have apple juice so I used apple sauce. Pam-sprayed a Pyrex dish, marinated the chops several hours and baked in the 350 degree oven. Delish! Served with yellow rice and it made a wonderful sauce for the rice. Will be making this often. Maybe my grill will be fixed soon and I can grill them next time.

Not a fan of the sauce. There is too much oil in the sauce and weak flavor.

Loved it !! It was a huge hit with everyone

I used bone in pork chops. Fabulous!

So I had high hopes for this recipe, we weren’t really impressed at all :/ Once my sauce cooled off, it was really lumpy & solid like grease, I’ll be looking for a new recipe to try

Excellent flavor! I would use the sauce on chicken too.
