This soup is rich and thick. Because of the cheesy flavor, kids adore this.

I added carrots and 1 stick of butter , then tripled the ingredients for family at Christmas time. Even the grandchildren LOVED it! What’s even better I made it a month earlier, sealed and froze it. It tasted like I just made it.

Delicious just add fried bacon for a smokey finish and of course garlic!

Very easy to make, healthy, and tastes great! A+!

Double batched it and did exactly what the recipe called for except added peas. I also garnished each bowl with a hefty pinch of chopped bacon and onion greens. The family was impressed and wanted more. Excellent recipe!

Nice creamy soup and the family enjoyed it! Instead of chicken bouillon, I did beef bouillon with hamburger. Plan on making a few more revisions and see what happens! Enjoyed it and a soup worth to try!

I didn’t change a thing. It was so good! My hubby said you can make this again. I served it with French bread.

This was the easiest and best-tasting potatoes soup ever!!! If you have a big family you may need to double the recipe.

An important correction to recipe – it calls for 1 cup water. It needs 1 QUART of water. This made a delicious, easy soup. I didn’t have enough American cheese (Velveeta) so I made up the difference with shredded Mexican Style blend. This one goes in the permanent recipe file!

Yummy rich soup. I used a minced clove of garlic in stead of the parsley. And for the cheese I used cheddar. Sourdough would have been nice but grilled some hone bread with butter.

Love it only I substitute heavy cream for the milk and use fresh grated parmesan and or Asiago cheese to help thicken it up better than cheddar or American. Otherwise great recipe!

used 1c. chicken broth instead of bouillon cube and did not use water. Used 1 c. milk and a bit more flour to make a thicker sauce. Added some corn and carrots, didn’t have celery unfortunately, and a little garlic powder. Very nice on this cold winter night.

Absolutely amazing

It was great. I added corn to mine as well.

This soup came out very tasty. I used hamburger meat instead of the ham because I can’t eat ham.

Delicious!! As another reviewer suggested I used bacon instead of ham and sautéed the onions and carrots (I didn’t have celery so subbed carrots) in bacon grease, added the flour to make a roux then added the water, bullion, potatoes. Then follows the rest of the recipe. I used skim milk. Whole family loved it

Made this delicious soup, did change it up a little. More veggies no ham. Yummy!

Excellent recipe!! I used bacon instead of ham, and fried the onions/celery in bacon fat before adding potatoes and broth. I also added a carrot, and used cheddar cheese instead of American. Seasoning was spot on! This is one I will definitely make again!

Instead of bouillon, I used chicken broth. I also added curry and subbed the celery for diced green bell pepper(my family isn’t a fan of celery). I love how this recipe calls for milk instead of heavy cream. Overall, really easy and versatile. You can add or sub ingredients very easily.

Cooked bacon in the pot, removed it. Sautés onion, garlic, celery first in bacon grease. Added other ingredients as directed, then crushed the bacon in soup

its hard to see under the sour cream and cheese( personal preference) but this soups is always a favorite! Ive been using this recipe for awhile now and I just added a home made bread bowl but I cant really consider that altering anything Lol but this is an amazing comfort soup. definitely suggest it!
