These delectable mushroom caps are a crowd pleaser since they are filled with pig sausage, shredded and ricotta cheeses, onions, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  2. 1 cup half-and-half
  3. ¾ cup white sugar
  4. ⅔ cup cake mix with candy bits (such as Pillsbury® Funfetti®), or more to taste
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 1 teaspoon multi-colored sprinkles, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Stir heavy cream, half-and-half, sugar, cake mix, and vanilla extract together in ice cream maker’s container. Freeze according to manufacturer’s directions for soft-serve consistency. Top with multi-colored sprinkles before serving.

I really enjoyed this, but I think the directions should state to mix everything in a mixing bowl and then add to the ice cream maker (unless mine is the only one that works like that?). I had a hard time with it because I mixed it in the mixer, it got jammed before it stirred anything, and then I ended up mixing it by hand & dumping it in a freezer container & throwing it in the freezer because I was frustrated with it. I am sure that if I mix it in a bowl first then add it, it will be perfect! It tasted delicious! I would definitely make it again. My niece loved it too, and I’ve already shared the recipe with a friend.
