Making fruit skewers spontaneously came to me as I was considering alternative ways to serve fruit at a party.

This recipe was great! Easy and kid friendly. I cut the skewers down before threading the fruit and that worked out well.
Super quick and easy and super versatile! I used this for a bridal shower I was hosting. I served them on round platters. They were pretty to look at! I chose fruits that wouldn’t turn color…like grapes, strawberries, kiwi, watermelon.
I first put a marshmallow at the bottom, then made my way with kiwi, pineapple as the recipe, then a chunk of orange as it was in early Spring (no melon), half of a strawberry and grape. I took it at an after-dance party and it was a HUGE success . Everybody was extra happy to find this fruit idea far more refreshing and less caloric than any of the present cakes ! and the rainbow colours were attracting people like a magnet π
I made it and i loved it as me and my mother had mothers day making little rainbow type snacks, anyway i loved the exotic taste and my brothers always love these snacks as well as my family
relly good
We used these at a Princess party, and we called them “magic wands.” A huge hit with all of the kids at the party.
Could not use Pineapple so substituted watermelon. Excellant!! And used Strawberry Low Fat Yogurt for the dipper. UMMM Delish….
Perfect alternative to sweets; colorful, and refreshing on a hot, humid day.
Great combination of favors and good visual presentation. Perfect for my guests with a fruit curry chicken salad on croissants.
Excellent as written! I also tried grilling them, that made them even more tasty!
I used cantaloupe, watermelon, Strawberries, and Grapes. They turned out good, one thing to think of is to get yogurt as a dipping sauce to them
A good way to prevent apples and bananas from turning brown is to mix a bit of salt or lemon in water and dipping it in there.
Great summer snack for the pool or just anytime, my kids loved it!
Such a simple idea for such a marvelous presentation. We serve these on the boat with friends, sunny afternoon’s poolside and as appetizers for barbeques. They are wonderful easy finger foods that are a cool and refreshing treat, especially on a hot day. HELPFUL HINT: If your fruit hasn’t reached it’s full potential try serving these with Carla’s fruit dip from AR; 1 container frozen whipped topping such as cool whip, 1 jar marshmallow creme, 8 ounces cream cheese, and a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. It helps to overcome the tartness on fruit that hasn’t quite peaked yet. Thanks Anaj930 for the sweet treat!
In the actual recipe a honey lime dressing isn’t included. I have had fruit skewers before and they are festive and pretty, I prefer to save time, effort, and make mine in a bowl w/the honey lime dressing which is included somewhere else on this site as a fruit salad recipe.
Fun and easy to make!
Served with fluffy fruit dip (8 oz cream cheese block 7 or 8 oz marshmallow fluff 1 tsp vanilla). Didn’t even skewer just served bowls of fresh fruit and gave eac guest a ramekin to put their fluff in. There was nothing left and I only had 4 guests.
It’s amazing
I make these and put the skewers stuck all around a big pineapple. Makes a great centerpiece.
This is a very fun recipe. I made these @ my Father’s Day cookout & they were a hit for the entire family..
Well, we changed the fruit a little (we used strawberries, kiwi, watermelon, mango and pineapple), but it doesn’t matter, as long as the fruit is ripe and in season, these are wonderful. They look sooooo pretty and the kids love them just as much as the adults. These are a real crowd pleaser! Thanks for sharing. π
