Fruit Slush

This delicious frozen mixed fruit slushy is served in individual cups and has a slight kick to it. It was given to me as a cool afternoon snack, but I presented it as a frozen fruit salad. Additionally, it would be a great light dessert. This recipe was sent to me by Janet Carswell.

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins

Ingredients

  1. 1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  2. 1 ¾ cups white sugar
  3. 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
  4. 1 (20 ounce) package frozen strawberries, chopped
  5. 4 bananas, diced
  6. 5 cups ginger ale
  7. 25 ( 9 ounce) clear plastic cups

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, stir orange juice concentrate and sugar together until sugar has dissolved. Gently stir in pineapple, strawberries, and bananas until coated, then stir in ginger ale. Ladle about 2/3 cup of mixture into a plastic cup and freeze; repeat with remaining fruit salad and cups. Remove from freezer about 1 hour before serving.

This can be made in a 9×13 or larger pan as well.

This came out pretty good. I did cut the sugar down to 1 cup… I wish I had added the additional sugar. The OJ made this a little tart. My kids loved this!

Have been making this for years. Only add one cup sugar.Freeze all except ginger ale, in large bowl, then add ginger ale to slush in a punch bowl.

Like it a lot, but didn’t add the sugar, as I don’t like an overly sweet taste. For us, it was great without the sugar.
