With this recipe, my son won first place in a baking competition. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream, plain and warm or cold. I like to add a dash of cinnamon or apple pie spice when I use apples. Try substituting apples or plums for peaches.

Melissa Issaacson try the bisquick recipe for your husband, everyone else this one is awesome with cubed apples that have been soaked in simple syrup with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger if you like ginger. It makes the apples taste so good. 10 minutes before its done baking I add a layer of the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and melted butter to the top, it gives it like a creme Brulee king of crust you crack into. Most might think that adds to much spice and sugar but we love the flavor and the spices cut any over sweetness.
It is a fantastic recipe we made some for ourselves And some for our neighbor we served it with vanilla Ice cream one of the best cobblers I’ve had but maybe if you like a fritter cobbler and a cup more fruit but I like my cobbler more cake less fruit so I subtracted a cup.
That’s it, I’m sold! I’m usually a hold-out for cobbler made with a double crust, but needed a dessert I could whip up fast. It turned out great, with very little effort. For anyone who is thinking of lowering the sugar content, I subbed erithritol for sugar, and left out the fruit syrup. I made this batch with a jar of black cherries, and baked it in my medium cast iron skillet. I imagine with a less sugary fruit, it might need a little extra something, but it is a perfect recipe for cherries.
Easy, peasy. However, upon reading some of the other reviews I kinda tweaked it a bit. Used apples, pears and blueberries (wanted to use some peaches also but didn’t have any fresh ones) and seasoned them with cinnamon and lemon flavor. Having diabetes I also substituted granulated Stevia for sugar and white whole wheat flour for all purpose flour. Came out great!
Used fresh-thawed peaches with a bit of cornstarch to thicken and lemon juice. followed recipe; baked in 60 minutes. The batter was like a soft sponge cake oosing with peaches and syrup. Have used this recipe every year and never had a problem.
I used some apples that were almost too old to use. I added cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice in generous quantities. I have been told that it will be a requirement for all future celebratory dinners. Pumpkin pie will take a distant back seat according to my family. I used a foodi multi pot to make it starting with a couple minutes of steam pressure followed by baking for 10 minutes then 10 minutes of air crisping the top. It vanished faster than I was able to take a picture.
I made this exactly to recipe and in my opinion wasted some good peaches doing it. There is NO FLAVOR to this dessert. And to have to add this or add that to a recipe that others gave 4 stars to is not something one should have to do just to get it to have a taste. I won’t be making this again…!
Absolutely love this recipe! So easy! I have made it twice. Once with blueberries and once with strawberries. Both were great but the blueberry was the best.
I used strawberry rhubarb freezer jam I had canned & it turned out delicious!!
I made it with frozen black cherries. Yum!
In the oven now and smells wonderful. I had nectarines. The batter did not seem “battery” enough with 1 cup milk a Just peeked in oven and it’s looking good! Next time I will add chopped walnuts.so I added a bit more and then put over the melted butter. Also added cinnamon.
I got carried away peeling and slicing; so, I added extra apple. No problem. Delicious! So easy! Will definitely make again.
So easy! I made with a frozen triple berry mix that I thawed a bit before adding to the batter! The whole house smelled amazing.
Such an easy and good recipe. I have made this recipe several times with different fruit/berries. Most recently I made it with blueberries and gluten-free flour for a friend, and she described it as “amazing.” I use the leftovers for breakfast and sometimes add a little half-and-half. Yum!
This came out great! I followed the recipe exactly, used apples with a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon as suggested in the author’s note. It required only common ingredients and was super easy to prepare. Excellent!
I have made this with fresh peaches and fresh strawberries. Both were so good I’m going to try pineapple next.
Tastes great, just might want to set you dish on a cookie sheets in case of bubbling over!
This is really simple to make and has a great consistency and flavors. I used fruit cocktail for something different. Next time i make it I’m going to add some pecans or walnuts and a crumble topping.
This was the best cobbler and very easy to make. My family loved it and it was gone before the night was over. The next day they asked if I could make it again. The only change I made was I used mixed fresh berries of strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. I will definitely make this again.
Used apples, added a little apple juice; added brown sugar and cinnamon on top.7
Very easy, good basic recipe that it ready for your personal touch.
