Just made this sort of .. 6 oz fresh mango, 2 oz fresh lime juice 1 1/2 T orange liquor, 1/3 c silver patron one cup ice, 2 oz water.. no added sugar… worked just fine it.. not too sweet, my usual complaint with margaritas. Thank you Ellie for the inspiration

I’ve been making this recipe for years and it is my go to mango margarita recipe.  I’ve tried others, but this is simple and delicious.  I use regular sugar instead of superfine because that is what i have on hand.  I do not find them watery at all if you fill a pyrex measuring cup with two cups of ice (or a little over) and add just enough water to measure two cups (or slightly less).  The recipe is tasty with both premium ingredients (cointreau and patron) or inexpensive ingredients (triple sec and jose cuervo).  And, there is a nice bonus of vitamins A, B6, C, and folate from the fresh lime juice and the unsweetened frozen mango.

Delish just like the ones in the restaurant but I must admit I did have to make some modifications just based on my grocer not having the frozen mangoes in stock I used about 3 mangos that were fresh 2 cups of ice (no water since my mangoes were fresh) the 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice the 2 tbsp of sugar and 2 tbsp of triple sec as well as 1 cup of tequila.

amazing.
I agree tho i had to add ice to thicken it up.

Water is unnecessary. Too liquids, lacks the frothy frozen texture.

These are delicious. I made them for a few friends that I was having over and everyone commented on how good they were. I used fresh mangoes that I had put in the freezer after being cut up. I also used regular sugar because I can’t get it where I live. I dont use the full amount of ice water, but adjust to the thickness of the margarita. The recipe says it makes four one cup servings, but I found it made much more than that. A little extra tequila helps too. I will continue to make these until mango season ends.

This is the PERFECT summer drink. The frozen mango (i use trader joes acts as the ice cubes. The only change I made is to use regular sugar as I dont have superfine. Dont change anything. I have been making for two summers and just had to review!
