Ingredients
- Minced crystalized ginger, for the rim
- 3/4 ounce lime juice plus a lime wedge, for the rim
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce white cranberry juice
- 1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur, such as St-Germain
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur, such as Cointreau
- 1/4 ounce Ginger Simple Syrup, recipe follows
- 1/2 cup sugar
- One 3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced into rounds
Instructions
- Put the crystallized ginger on a small plate. Wet the rim of a rocks or cocktail glass with the lime wedge, then dip the rim in the crystallized ginger. Fill the glass with ice.
- Combine the vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, elderflower liqueur, orange liqueur and Ginger Simple Syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds; strain into the rimmed glass.
- Combine the sugar, ginger and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat, cover and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain into a resealable container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Yield: about 1/2 cup
