French onion dip is famous for a reason, but you won’t believe how amazing it tastes with the simple addition of caramelized leeks.

Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  2. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  3. 3 leeks (about 1 1/4 pounds), cleaned and thinly sliced (white and light green parts only)
  4. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  5. One 16-ounce carton sour cream
  6. One 1-ounce packet onion soup mix
  7. Potato chips, for serving
  8. Carrot and celery sticks, for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter together with the oil in a large skillet. Add the leeks and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook on medium-low heat until tender and caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  2. Stir together the sour cream, onion soup mix and caramelized leeks in a bowl. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with potato chips, carrot sticks and celery sticks.
