Favorite Garlic Noodles

For a big event, use a delightful and light mostaccioli pasta salad. It’s simple to make and keeps well in the refrigerator for days.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  2. ¼ cup soy sauce
  3. 3 tablespoons peanut oil
  4. 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  5. 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  6. 1 tablespoon chopped green onion

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rapid boil. Cook egg noodles at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, 7 to 9 minutes. Drain.
  2. Add soy sauce, peanut oil, sesame oil, and garlic to the same pot. Return egg noodles to the pan and stir until well coated.
  3. Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Transfer noodles and sauce into the hot pan and stir-fry until they are slightly crispy, 3 to 5 minutes. Garnish with green onion.
  4. I used Rose Chinese egg noodles for this dish, but any Chinese egg noodles work.

Can’t beat the ease of preparation! Simple and flavorful. I added shrimp and shredded carrots and will add some cabbage next time.

I am getting ready to make this recipe, for my wife and me this evening, with breaded chicken beasts from Sprouts. Once evaluated, I will leave a proper star rating to the menu. Just so you know, I’m only using fresh gardnulated garlic, butter, graded paresean cheese, and a small amount of olive oil. Photos will be added as well as my wifes picky eating habits. — Kyle Ripton After a successful dinner, I have to say this was a five star meal. Everything was made in the microwave. Cooking the noodles first, drained water, adding a stick of butter, a generous amount of minced garlic, salt, pepper, and heated in microwave. The noodles were melt in your mouth. The chicken had a lemon zest mixed with the already prepared chicken. Heated up in the airfryer. Put it all together, and she and I both loved the desire for more. Worth every bite.

So simple, but so good

The recipe was quite delicious and easy to make. I made it with slow cooker, adobo chicken with bok choy. The meal came out quite delicious.

I used peanut butter instead of peanut oil DELICIOUS!

This is similar to PF Changs garlic noodles that I love but not on menu any more.

Made the recipe as stated except for doubling the quantity and adding a small squirt of honey. The family really liked the soft noodles and the crunchy texture as well as the Asian flavors. Thank you for an easy recipe that will be added to our rotation for sure.

These were a good addition to a meal. The first day I made them they tasted too garlicky. After leaving them over night in the fridge, they tasted much better the next day. I didn’t have granulated garlic. So I used garlic powder and just added half the amount. I would make this again and maybe even throw some steamed broccoli in it next time.

I made it with fine rice noodles and added crispy tofu and crunchy chickpeas for a complete protein [I’m semi-veg]. My child came home as I was eating it for lunch. I had a pb & j instead. He loved it

I made 1/2 recipe. While in the frying pan, I added 4oz pulled chicken. It was delicious. I will make it again. Next time, I’ll add some broccoli florets, snap peas, or mushrooms to the frying pan, so I get my veggies. 😉 Only ate 1/2, so we’ll see if this rewarms well. Good stuff!

Loved this recipe, I doubled it and reduced the peanut oil by 2 tablespoons. I also added in some bok choy that had been seared in butter, lemon, miso paste, and gochujang paste! Added a nice flair to the noodles. A great topper for this is the Instant Pot Asian-Style Pulled Pork recipe too! (Just make sure to cook that for longer than the recipe says.)

It was just okay. Pretty bland, but after we added Sriracha we ate it all and it made a perfectly good side dish. The fam voted and unanimously said we need to keep looking. On the plus side, it was easy, the ingredients are common pantry staples and the variations are limitless.

They were great! Yes, I modified it a bit. First, doubled it. Then substituted 1tbsp peanut butter plus 2 tbsp avocado oil for the peanut oil because we didn’t have any. Also no egg noodles so we used linguini. I sauteed yellow peppers, garlic, and mushrooms in a heavy skillet then pulled them out and put chicken thighs in to cook while the water boiled for the noodles. Chicken done, noodles done, poured them and veggies back into the pan with the chicken to meld together. Hubby went back for seconds. Garlicky and delicious. (drops mike)

I used a large wok to boil my linguini and then drained and set aside. To wok o used part of the recipe to stir fry mushrooms, l peppers, and few other veggies. Moved to sure, added a little more of the mix to sauté shrimp. Then added back linguini and rest if mi, to which I added a little oyster sauce and crushed red peppers. Fantastic!!

Looks so simple and delicious can’t wait to try making for my family . We love different style of noodles.

I used linguini noodles instead of the egg noodles. Easier to eat.

Works better with rice noodles and substituting the powdered garlic with a couple tbsp chili paste with garlic.

My family loves noodles! My grandkids call them “new-news” This recipe is a family favorite! Thank you!

I added grated carrot and chopped cabbage. Next time I will add some shrimp. It was good, just needs added items to make it a better 1 item meal

My husband and I could not get over how much we enjoyed this fast, economical and tasty dinner!! I wish I would have doubled! My only deviation; 2 TBLS of granulated garlic??? Granulated garlic is stronger than garlic powder! That amount sounded way too much given the ratio of 8oz egg noodles (I used regular egg noodles BTW) for OUR tastes. As such, reduced to 1 tsp and found that plenty! And oh so good! This recipe can also be easily adjusted! Sauté some chicken & onions to mix in at the end? Mushrooms and perhaps some red pepper flakes? The options are wide open! Also – made a bok choy recipe from this site that I intended to serve as a side but halfway through, started stirring it into my bowl. Delicious!! I see why these noodles are your favorite! It’s now one of ours too! Thank you!
