This is a basic recipe from my granny. In Pennsylvania, peaches and cobbler are the only fruit available; excessive spice use dilutes the peach flavor.

Simple and easy! No fuss! Needed something quick for my overripe peaches
Love this type of peach cobbler. Reminds me of the one I grew up on. Simple yet really good.
Excellent peach cobbler. I used 5 fresh Eastern WA peaches, they were so juicy and sweet that I only added 1/4 cup sugar to the flour and milk. I also used an 8 x 8 pan, and the batter amount was perfect for that size pan. I didn’t have SR flour, but the substitution is 1 cup of regular flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder and .5 tsp salt.
I made it last week when we had company. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. My brother-in-law who does not care for peaches enjoyed it as well. It has to be good when it was a toss up between ice cream cake or cobbler.
just great as written.
I had one peach so I divided everything by 4. I used 1 Tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp white sugar because I didn’t want it too sweet. I added a handful of oats and a little salt. It’s actually pretty good to eat for breakfast with some bacon on the side!
I loved the ease and how great this recipe tastes! I’m eating it right now. 😉 the changes, in the fruit; I added some ripe plums and ground cherries to the peaches as it was the end of the season for all! And I had to add them to *something!* I added 1 t. or so of cinnamon, and although it made the cobbler brown and not look that good, I traded looks for taste. The one thing my grandmom taught me was to melt butter in pan while the oven is preheating and then, to pour the butter into the cobbler (or whatever.) Your Grandma Elnora sure had it going on! This is fantastic. Thank you.
This is the absolute best peach cobbler! The batter bakes into a beautiful & tasty cakelike crust. I did kick it up a bit with lemon juice & cinnamon on the peaches. Along with a little vanilla and Garam Masala in the batter. That gave it a nice, restaurant quality flavor. This is super easy and delicious. So put it together and throw it on the oven before dinner, by the time dinner is done, its ready to go! Find the vanilla ice cream and & enjoy!
I was disappointed with this cobbler. It was definitely very easy to make but not the best. It tasted fine, but I didn’t care for the texture and way that it baked. I would suggest using another cobbler recipe, so many better ones out there !
This recipe is awesome ! Thank you for sharing.
We simply loved the ease and simplicity of this recipe. The star is peaches and that is all one should taste. I did slice the peaches larger as to get a yummy burst of peach in each bite!
Mercy! I think I’m in love. Took other’s suggestions to sprinkle cinnamon on peaches before adding batter, and include a dash of vanilla in the batter. Used a glass 9×13 pan but had to bake about 45 minutes ’til it browned on top. Have a beautiful picture of it but can’t figure out how to appease the computer gods and add it. Suffice it to say… It Is Gorgeous!
Simple and delicious. My husband loved it.
This was delicious and easy. My mom asked for the recipe!
Good flavor, but the cobbler part had a strange, sort of gummy consistency. It could have been the old oven, but even cooking it an extra 25 minutes didn’t do much to improve the consistency.
Absolutely perfect! Followed the recipe exactly. The family loves it and it is quick and easy.
I added some cinnamon as some reviewers suggested, otherwise I followed exactly. I thought the batter was really soupy but it baked up very nicely. This was delicious!
I made this cobbler for the second time and used an 11 by 7 pan.. it was absolutely delicious. My husband and I topped it off with vanilla ice cream after warming it up in the microwave for a few seconds. I will never use another cobbler recipe . Now we are just waiting for our small orchard to produce tart cherries and Granny Smith apples . Also awaiting the arrival of wild blackberries which grow in our pastures. Yum yum
YES! This was easy and delicious. I added cinnamon to the batter. It was a total hit at the barbecue!
6.30.19 This actually is more like a dump cake rather than a cobbler, except you’re using fresh peaches (instead of canned) and mixing up your batter (rather than using a box of cake mix). And that’s not to say that it’s not good because it is. Followed the recipe with the exception of cutting the sugar in half because I knew for us that would just be too sweet. Certainly was easy enough to make, and I know every single bite will be finished off!
THIS IS IT! the perfect peach cobbler recipe. 9×9 pan, 7-9 peeled & sliced peaches, add a teaspoon of vanilla to cake batter, some cinnamon sugar to tops of peaches and also top of batter. my husband, who isn’t a gushing complimenter, said i5 was exactly what he’d wanted and to write the recipe down so we could use it with ALL the fruits. Thank you!!
