Ed’s London Broil Marinade

  4.7 – 2 reviews  • Marinade Recipes

This recipe was given to me by my brother when he was a member of a gourmet culinary organization. Even more so when the steak is cooked with mesquite briquettes, it is straightforward but tasty.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 10 mins
Servings: 8
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  1. 1 large onion, chopped
  2. 1 cup soy sauce
  3. ½ cup browning sauce (such as Kitchen Bouquet®)
  4. 4 teaspoons seasoned salt (such as Spice Islands® Beau Monde Seasoning)
  5. 2 large cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Blend onion, soy sauce, browning sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic in a blender until smooth.
  2. I have marinated beef overnight with this recipe, but also have used as little as an hour and a half. I also use Gravy Master(R) instead of Kitchen Bouquet(R) when I can’t find it in any store.
  3. Place marinade and beef in a zippered bag. Keep in refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

This is close to the steak marinade we have used for 40 years and it is the very best in my book! My Our recipe only has 1/4 c kitchen bouquet and 2 tsp beau monde (which can be made with equal parts of seasoned salt and MSG). I only put the steak on for a brief time as I try to choose a tender cut. The flavor is NOT overpowering, but just a nice enhancement.

Very flavourful. I marinated a steak for about 3 hours and was very happy with the result. To keep it gluten free I used a homemade brown sauce and tamari sauce. Thank you for the recipe.
