Soft & chewy…delicious! Made exactly as shown and they turned out amazing! When sharing them with co-workers, I had two of them ask me for the recipe because of the great texture and taste. I am throwing out my other chocolate chip cookie recipes and staying with this one! Thank you for sharing. -deb ontario canada-

Perfect, just what I was looking for. I have multiple recipies for Chocolate Chip cookies. The ones with all shortening are cake like, the ones with all butter spread out too much. This turned out perfectly. I did chill the dough to keep them from spreading .

it was awesome my family loved the cookies

Excellent. Used all butter instead of part shortening, but reduced total butter by 1 Tablespoon. Cookies had some thickness. They disappeared but we want more.

Followed this exactly and cookies were completely flat and runny. The ratio of butter/shortening (wet ingredients) to flour (dry ingredients) seems way off.

I found this recipe in a Better Homes and Gardens cookie book, and it is my go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. This recipe has a bit of everything; butter, shortening, and two types if sugar, which makes for one delicious and nicely textured cookie. The addition of shortening prevents the spreading that happens in many all butter recipes. Don’t leave it out. Fantastic cookie recipe.

Made as directed, but added hazelnuts, because nuts, right? Respect to those with allergies.

I didn’t have shortning so I used butter instead. My husband said it’s the best batch I’ve made.

First off, the cookies look like they could be on a add, but they taste a little weird because of the shortening. I don’t know if it’s because I used crisco or what but they have a slightly weird taste. Other than that the cookies are amazing and I suggest you try them out!

Great recipe! I made mini cookies using a small cookie scoop and cutting it in half. I used mini chocolate chips and baked for 9 minutes. They turned out great!

Excellent. Take them out of the oven when they have sunk down to flat, but haven’t browned all over yet. For my oven it’s around 9 minutes. Then let them sit and finish setting up on the sheet pan. Don’t move them until they are cool.

These are really good. Soft and chewy for sure. I added more chocolate chips than the recipe asked for and actually got 3 dozen cookies. They are one of my favourite cookies.

I accidentally left it in the oven after 20 minutes, with the oven off. They came out crispy, so if you want crispy cookies, leave it in the oven after you turn it off.

This is a good recipe! I bake a lot and I’m always looking for them to be soft and stay soft, the only thing is that they take longer than 10 min, more like 15-20, but other than that I love this recipe!

Soft & gooey every tine! I turn my gas oven down to 330° and bake for 10 mins. Chill in between batches! I make 2 inch balls.
