It was good your website sucks not all people printers but we can send and get email
It tasted fine. The meatballs were very moist from slow cooking all day, which I liked, but the downside is all the fat from the meat stays in the sauce, where when I bake them some of that drains away….so not very heart healthy. The recipe is definitely missing salt, in the sauce and the meatballs. The sauce was not to my taste, but my husband loved it. It was very runny which is not surprising since all the steam runs right back in while it cooks in a slow cooker so it does not thicken like on the stove. I added cornstarch in the end to thicken it up.
I used elk that I harvested, doubled the recipe and used bbq sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. It tasted great, elk was big gamey at all.
The meat balls need to be browned. Some salt needs to be added, maybe a pinch or two. Salt by its nature is a flavor enhancer. Suggest kosher or sea salt. A teaspoon or two of Italian seasoning should be added. Also a teaspoon of sugar added to the sauce to cut the acid of the tomatoes. Also suggest some parmigiana cheese, grated, to add flavor to the sauce. Increase the amount of garlic. Just my opinion.
I loved the recipe. it was easy!
No where does the recipe call for salt but the meatballs desperately need salt. Otherwise, the recipe is very easy. I will be making again but with one added ingredient–salt!
The meatballs were delicious but the sauce wasn’t great. Everything tasted better after sitting a day in the fridge, oddly enough. I used turkey instead of beef.
It tasted like tomato sauce poured over meatballs. I had to get an anti acid to calm my stomach!!
These meatballs taste just like my mothers. Everybody loves these.
me my boyfriend and our daughter love this, definitely one of our favorites
My very first time making meatballs, I did add Parmesan to the mix. I will make these again. Instead of the purée and the tomatoes, I used 2 jars of marinara sauce instead. Next time I will add some Italian seasoning, but in the all in all, came out great.
I used frozen meatballs. Found the sauce a bit bland. Would add garlic and some Italian spice and sweet peppers maybe.
This is a very good meatball recipes! I did use half lean ground turkey and precook the meatballs for 20 min at 375. Because we like spicy foods, I almost doubled the spices but not the salt. Thank you for this delicious recipe served with pasta and Parmesan cheese.
Not sure how this got so many stars when almost all the commenters said they changed the recipe( wouldn’t that mean the recipe isn’t that good) … anyway I’m giving it 3 stars because it was edible. The meatballs lacked flavor and consistency. I would not make these again.
Awesome! I made it in my slow cooker for 8 hours and was amazing at how good it came out. The sauce didn’t change much in flavor for a really long time but after it crossed the 8 hour mark the flavor got a lot deeper and meatier. I will use this recipe on repeat for dinner at the end of the day. The only change I made to the recipe was that I used half italian sausage and half ground beef instead of all ground beef. And i definitely wouldnt take it out before 8 hours
These meatballs are absolutely delicious. I cut back a little on the bread crumbs and added some parmesan and Rao’s marinara sauce. Best meatballs I ever made.
delicious and easy to make! you may want to brown the meatballs before putting them in the crock pot to remove some of the fat or buy a very lean meat so the sauce will have a lot of grease sitting on top. This will be a fun recipe to try some different spices in the meatballs.
The flavor was good, but in the end, I have meaty sauce, hardly any meat balls. Next time I will try baking the meatballs a little first before putting them in the slow cooker
nasty. taste like a very bad meatloaf sandwich. would absolutely never make again
My whole family enjoy the meatballs and the sauce. I was so easy to make
made this several times now – add extra spices to sauce – garlic, basil, oregano, parsley. Find it a little bland without. I also add 1/2 cup breadcrumbs and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese to 2 lbs hamburger meat with a little garlic and onion powder and 2 eggs. We really enjoy it over pasta or as subs.
