This was delicious!! I added an extra teaspoon of poultry seasoning and doubled or more of the broth. After 3 1/2 hrs, I was able to shred the chicken. I added some frozen lima beans at the time I added the biscuits. Wonderful meal with plenty of leftovers.

I love chicken and dumplings soup so much and this was my first go at making it myself! Considering that fact, it was a total success. Next time I make it, I am going to tweak a couple of things. I think both cans of condensed soup was too much thickness, so I will go down to just the 1 cream of chicken can, and supplement the second can with an extra full sodium chicken broth. I also don’t love the additive flavors and softer texture that come with the canned biscuit, so I might use a mix next time. Probably more time-consuming, but potentially worth having a denser texture with fewer additives. The soup is delightful regardless and I’m excited to celebrate fall with it.

This is a family go to. We love the way it makes the house smell and the fabulous taste. We really enjoy the biscuits as the dumplings. Just delicious.

Great, great basic recipe. To jazz it up I’ve learned to add extra poultry seasoning, a bit of garlic, and whatever fresh Italian herbs I have growing. It’s also versatile – if I don’t have cream of celery, cream of mushroom works just fine. Extra carrots, onion, it’s really forgiving around the basic ingredients. The whole family loves this recipe, as stated or slightly modified!

We loved this recipe, tasted much like chicken pot pie. Only suggestion is add more carrots, probably double as they were pretty sparse.

So easy! Perfect for a snowstorm day. Used 3 large chicken breast skinless, boneless seasoned with poultry seasoning, salt and pepper . Used water with an added pack of chicken gravy. Used 3 medium onions, baby carrots and one stick of celery. Not a fan of cooked celery Next time will use whole carrots. The Baby carrots have a certain taste when cooked due to the water in the bag . Added can of Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken, chicken broth. Liked the dried rosemary . Used canned biscuits 16 oz . Thought they were kinda of bland, next time will try Bisquick seasoned with dried rosemary. Came out creamy My husband hates chicken pot pie, said this was a keeper and excellent. May add sugar snap peas last hour for more color.

This recipe is so easy to follow. My family enjoyed the chicken n dumplings dinner. They were impressed that I made it in the crockpot. They want this dish again. They said it’s the perfect soup for a cold night. So Enjoyable.

Not bad. I didn’t have chicken, so I used pork loin. Instead of poultry seasoning, I used Lowry’s Seasoning Salt and rather than torn biscuits, egg noodles.

I followed the recipe exactly and it was really good. A few extra dumplings wouldn’t have hurt because my kids wolfed them all down.

I needed WAY more chicken broth and poultry seasoning. I also ended up adding sage and additional salt as I found it quite bland. I used Bisquick biscuit mix instead of refrigerator biscuits because that’s how my mother made it. I started the crockpot on Saturday morning and ended up serving at 4pm on Sunday. It. Was. Amazing.

Replaced fresh vegetables with frozen mirepoix, cooked on low for 7 hours and swapped out water and chicken flavored base for 1 quart homemade chicken bone broth. I kept the rosemary but replaced the rest of the spices with “pepper and herb” seasoning mix from winco. Had the dumplings jn the whole 8 hrs. Turned out great

This is a great recipe! Saves time on making dumplings. The flavor was excellent! The entire family loved it! I will definitely make this again! Thank You for the recipe! 🙂

I love this and made it several times. The only difference to the recipe I made was to add about a cup of frozen peas when I added all of the other vegetables. My boyfriend asks for me to make it all the time. I like that you can just throw everything in and the crock pot does all the work. I also like that it can be done in as little as 5 or so hours. Some crock pot recipes take much longer.

This was delicious! I’ve already made it dozens of times and my family loves it. I didn’t change anything. I did keep biscuit pieces on top and not directly into it. That’s it. Very good recipe.

Really good! Used 2 cans of cream of chicken and and about 1/4 onion. It was perfect. Use low sodium if available.

This is always a hit at my house! I use boneless thighs instead of breasts. The recipe doesn’t say what to do with the other 1/2 of the chicken broth, so I just add it at the beginning with all ingredients. I find the amount of liquid to be perfect and I don’t ever add flour to the biscuits like some people do. I usually taste and add additional seasoning prior to adding the biscuits. Really good and easy!

Super good, but too soupy. Added the peas and garlic as recommended, but next time will do more carrots and less broth.
Cheryl Smith
It had great potential, but the 1/2 teaspoon of rosemary was too much! I wasn’t sure at first if it was the rosemary or the poultry seasoning, but I’ll use 1/4 teaspoon next time. The whole family thought it was to strong.

Love this recipe. My husband and kids aren’t a fan of the dumplings, so I just leave the biscuits out and cook them in the oven. In my opinion, it’s delicious either way. Highly recommend this for anyone. And it’s fairly simple to make. Always love that.

Very good. Made exactly as written

Made this for my grandparents when they came into town and they loved it. Tastes like warm fluffy goodness.
