smoothie made with spinach. I think this is a really simple method to consume a lot of fruit and vegetable servings.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 1 hr 10 mins
Additional Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Servings: 12
Yield: 1 9×13-inch lasagna

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound lean ground beef
  2. 1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  3. 32 ounces cottage cheese
  4. 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  5. 2 eggs
  6. ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  7. 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  8. salt to taste
  9. ground black pepper to taste
  10. 9 lasagna noodles
  11. ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Stir in spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Combine cottage cheese, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, eggs, 1/2 of the grated Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Spread 3/4 cup of sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover with 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, 1 3/4 cups of cheese mixture, and 1/4 cup sauce; repeat layers once more. Top with remaining 3 noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Pour 1/2 cup water along the edges of the dish. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

When I saw the cottage cheese in this recipe, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Actually, I found it much better than using ricotta cheese. It is an easy recipe and VERY GOOD!!!

I haven’t made lasagna in a long time. I will layer the lasagna with the noodles first for the next time so I can have more sauce on top. It was good.

My family loved it! I used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese and added zucchini

My family LOVED IT!!! I did substitute dried parsley for fresh. But’ THIS recipe was fun an delicious. When we’d ate all we could eat, I sliced rest into squares and froze them, for quick meals ANY TIME.

I love it and so does my sweetie! I pared it down for 2 people & allowing for leftovers. I used a combination of 1/2 ground beef & 1/2 sweet sausage. Otherwise, stuck to your recipe.

Wonderful. Tweaks were Italian sausage instead of hamburger and 2 cans if diced tomatoes between layers.

Would make again based on how easy it is though it’s not as amazing as Linda’s Lasagna. I used Rao’s marinara which is very oily. I don’t think the water was needed. I ended up with a lot of extra liquid. I used jovial gluten free lasagna and did not pre-cook.

I boiled the lasagna noodles for about 8 minutes, added mozz provalone Parm cottage cheese and ricotta all together, browned the hamburger added ragu to the meat. Added the meat to the pan, added the noodles then the cheeses, continued until finished. Baked it about 45 mins uncovered it and went another 10. It came out great. I didn’t measure the ingredients. it was my 1st lasagna. I left out the water.

My fiancé was wanting it . I usually use ricotta cheese but two stores I went to didn’t have it so found this recipe used cottage cheese. I did add Italian sausage (johnsonville) and doubled the meat *(the man loves his meat). I added more cheese and another egg and it was quick and easy. I used oven ready noodles so I did bake it a little longer (40). He loved it and said it was the best I’ve made. So thank you for the recioe!!!

No it was good

I tweaked the recipe a bit. Used two pounds of meat, more pasta sauce, cut out the water, added diced onion and seasonings (garlic powder, salt, pepper) while browning the meat. Also added minced garlic to the cheese mixture. I used more than 9 noodles (probably more like 12). Since I added extra stuff, I baked for about 45 min covered and 15 uncovered, and then let sit for another 10-15. Delicious! Might try shredded parm next time for even more of a melty cheese kick. I overflowed my casserole dish, but the lasagna came out great!
