Too watery & I used 1/4 cup less water. Added extra basil & oregano to get a decent flavor. As much as I didn’t want to, adding a bit of sugar helped. Definitely cut the water back to just over 1 cup and add more if needed. This recipe needs to be updated.
1/3 cup olive oil. Are you crazy? Next time I make this I’ll use a couple of tablespoons at the most. It also needs a little sugar.
I followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Bitter, oily, and watery. I have since read other reviews on combating these issues, but that changes the recipe, meaning this one is still not good.
Excellent sauce! No cooking was a plus! I didn’t even refrigerate and it was incredible. Most other sauces I’ve tried didn’t come close. Perfect consistency too. I put it on KetoPizza. Wow was it good!
Too watery.. this is not authentic pizza sauce recipe
It was so easy just use Italian season parsley minced garlic salt and pepper and that was it oh and tomato paste
This is incredible! If you’re having a tinny taste, add a Tablespoon of Sugar. I ONLY added 1 cup of water. My experience told me it’d be too runny. I also add beef bullion that gave it a meat flavored yummy sauce. Making it into a Chicago deep dish. A keeper! Thank you.
Note to self. Decrease water and oil by half. Add onion powder and fennel.
Excellent, I reduced the water as suggested.
I love this recipe! The consistency is perfect and the flavor is wonderful, and such a simple recipe! I read the reviews prior to making this sauce, so I was on the lookout for it being too watery. That turned out not to be a problem. That makes me wonder if people were using tomato sauce rather than tomato paste, which might cause it to be too thin. The tomato paste gives it nice, rich tomato flavor!
Used the recipe exactly as it says. I used my ninja to blend it properly and it came out perfectly. Not too thin, not too thick, but just right. The only thing I might change next time is cut back slightly on the rosemary. I would prefer it with just a smig less.
This recipe made my “Top 10” list of new recipes tried in 2022. So easy and flavourful.
After reading the reviews, I used one can of water w/the tomato paste. 1/6 of a cup of olive oil. 1 tsp salt, 1/4 pepper. Add water and oil until desired thickness and taste. Will make again.
It’s not terrible as long as you cut back on the water or add extra tomato paste. I ended up using a second can of tomato paste, and it’s still thinner than what pizza sauce should be. I also added a dash of red wine vinegar and extra spices and garlic.
Great recipe if you want to soak some pizza dough. Otherwise, try using a lot less liquid.
It’s good
this was the best pizza sauce I ever made in my life loved it and deffently will try again.
No I love pizza and I love garlic!
IT WAS VERY EASY TO MAKE AND VERY DELICIOUS.. THANKS FOR SHARING
After reading the comments I cut the water to 3/4 cup. I did not change anything else plus added 1/2 tsp sugar. I let this sit about 2 hours on the countertop while the crust was rising and being shaped. The flavors were great. Everyone loved it including the picky grandkid. This is definitely a keeper. It would also be a great dipping sauce for garlic bread sticks – with a bit of red pepper flakes added perhaps for some kick.
