One of my most popular recipes is this one. The recipe is the greatest “non-fried” chicken I’ve ever tried. Instead of being fried, chicken is breaded and battered.

- Make the tzatziki: Combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic, oil, dill, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a blender. Blend until smooth, then cover and refrigerate until needed.
- Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
- Make the chicken: Whisk garlic, lemon juice, oil, oregano, vinegar, salt, and pepper together in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add chicken and toss until evenly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

- Preheat the oven’s broiler and set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
- Remove chicken from the marinade and place onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
- Broil in the preheated oven until lightly browned and no longer pink in the center, 2 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer cooked chicken to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes.

- While the chicken is resting, make the gyros: Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook each pita in the hot skillet until warm and soft, about 1 minute per side.
- Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
- Top warm pitas with chicken strips, tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

- Enjoy!

Very easy and very good!
Simple taste perfect fast and easy
My wife left me
It tasted a little bland to me, but everyone enjoyed it.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing this recipe! My whole family loved these gyros!
I made with my own tzakiki sauce because my husband is lebanese. I use sour cream instead of Greek yogurt just taste better to me.But all in all this recipes is great and easy
This tasted Amazing! The dish was so flavorful! I marinated the chicken for about 24 hrs., just because I didn’t have time to finish the dish until the following day. I followed every step pretty closely. I will be making it again- today! My only suggestion is to double the recipe because you will want more; much more.
Easy recipe with good flavor. Also recommend using crumbled feta with the Gyros.
Didn’t really like the chicken. Just bland. We liked the pita sauce. Gonna try a different one next time.
Very easy recipe. Very good as well my party guest loved them
Made as written except cut yogurt sauce down by 75% and that was plenty of sauce with leftovers. I will use leftover as a dressing. Marinated chicken 5 hrs. Tasted as good or better than local Mediterranean/middle eastern restaurant by my house. I cut chicken tenders into cubes and dumped marinade and chicken pieces into large frying pan and sautéed about 10 mins. Served will Naan bread from grocery store.
I love this recipe, made it for all my gal pals
horrible. The sauce was a runny mess
Excellent flavours! I found that everything was liquidy though. I would suggest seeding and salting the cucumber then letting it sit in a strainer to remove the extra water before adding to the yogurt. The yogurt mix was actually tzatziki but was very soupy. I marinated the chicken all day, removed it fromthe marinate and boiled it on a cookie sheet but had to drain the liquid when I flipped the meat half way through.
This was great! Made it as written except I made my own tzatziki sauce. Not sure how this feeds six because my two boys and I demolished it. Broiling the chicken was super easy and no clean up with tin foil. I’ll be using this recipe again.
Delicious!!
My hubby and I liked these, but my 9 yr old who loves gyros did not. I left out the cucumber, maybe that was why.
great recipe and really easy to make!
I made this using the rest of the sauce along with the marinade, the family loved it,yet the onions where a little strong.
This recipe was a huge success for my picky eaters. Thanks will be using it often.
Nice, simple recipe for a first-time gyro maker like me! It was delicious and I loved the broiled chicken…made it authentic. Thank you!
