A fantastic dip to serve with baked tortilla chips that is also nutritious and simple to prepare.

Ingredients
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 ½ tablespoons water, or more if needed
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin, or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon chili powder, or more to taste
- 1 teaspoon onion powder, or more to taste
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine beans, water, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, onion powder, and salt in a food processor; process until thick and smooth, adding more water if needed to reach desired thickness.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

This is appropriately titled because it is really easy to make. Prepared exactly as written and thought the cumin dominated the other ingredients (personal taste, perhaps). I ended up adding the juice from an entire lemon which brought some balance to the overall flavor of the dip. If I make again, I’ll start with 1/2 tsp cumin, taste, and add more if necessary. To kick up the flavor a bit more, I could see adding a healthy shot of sriracha or other hot sauce. Served with a garnish of TJ’s hot and sweet jalapeño peppers. Thanks for sharing, we enjoyed.
