My grandma used to make this every summer. But instead of refrigerating, she would freeze it. Pudding or frozen, “Dirt” tastes like the happiest moments of childhood!
I have never made dirt pudding before but used this recipe for a bday party and it was wiped out. Saw many going back for seconds. My husband and son said it was fantastic. I followed the recipe (using the butter in the mixture even though it seems an odd ingredient; note I used margarine and was fine), with one exception by replacing with chocolate pudding. It was easy to make and will make again.
Turned out amazing
This was surprisingly soooo delicious it was gone within the hour!!! I was worried that it needed to be chocolate for dirt and warms kinda thing and nope it was just amazing with the vanilla pudding mix. The kids can’t wait to make it again!
Have made this recipe several times!! Excellent. Everyone loves it!!
It was really good but hard for kiddo’s to make.
Serves 50? maybe? I made it per the recipe above and this is what’s left after 5 people ate from it. It’s really good, but be prepared to have a lot left over.
It was a hit on Fathers Day! Made it for the kids and couldn’t keep the adults out of it!
I made this with Skim Milk, LowFat Cream Cheese, and Fat Free Whipped Topping…and it still tasted absolutely decadent!!! The pudding tastes like cake batter. Soooooo delicious!!!
Always a hit!
Love this! Made two changes though. I found it to sweet so I didn’t include the confectioners sugar and it turned out great. Secondly, I mixed half the Oreos within the pudding and layered the rest on the bottom and top. That way there’s some crunchy and soft Oreo textures.
Used instant chocolate pudding and made the whip
I use chocolate pudding and omit the confectioner’s sugar(it is still sweet without the added sugar). My grandson’s favorite, especially with sour gummy worms!
Great
Haven’t tasted it yet but the Bowl Licking commenced immediately and the flavor was amazing. Everything came out like the instructions said and it was SUPER EASY to make. Less than 45 mins. SO I give it 5 stars just for the ease of making it.
Will definitely make again!
I made this dessert for a family dinner night. Everyone absolutely loved it, and it was real simple to make! Definitely recommend making this sometime! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
WE love dirt! But can someone tell me why sometimes it’s former than others. Can’t figure that out!
I make this every year! My kids love it!!!
It was definitely wayyy too sweet for me. I could only eat a spoonful. Next time I will cut back on the sugar.
My Aunt has been making this forever and it is just to die for! We loved it so much that it is not only requested, but my mom immediately asked for the recipe. Now dirt pudding is a tradition every Halloween that we do! It is just so good! I addded a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness of the pudding, and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla because who doesn’t love vanilla?!? I then layered the pudding in small cups over orange Halloween Oreos. Everyone loved it!!I will make this recipe again and again!!??
