It look more like a sauce than frosting. Had no substance to it. Don’t know what I did wrong
This icing is amazing. Even my friends who are picky about their icing love it. It’s so simple but tastes so good!
Frosting was delicious! Not too sweet and great consistency. I added a shake of cream of tartar and some extra milk to soften it up in the end. Then broke into 5 small bowls to add food coloring and it worked out great!
Excellent recipe and I followed it exactly! I used it on some mini pumpkin Bundt cakes and it was delicious!! This is my icing from now on!
A little sweet for me
simple easy and great
This was easy and tasty. I have been struggling with frosting for my Christmas cookies for years. I’ve tried many, some too hard, some too soft, some this some that, but this recipe was perfect, it will be my go to cookie frosting for awhile. I used it for the base coat and in my bags. I LOVE IT.
My husband grew up with Jiffy frosting, this as close as I have ever found. He loves this on cake and roll cookies.
I liked this frosting because it is good and the cookies are stackable after it drys!
It was great
Excellent frosting for sugar cookies! I used almond extract in place of the vanilla. It was delicious!

Absolutely delicious. This is a super sweet version of icing so those who don’t like super sweet may want to try a different recipe. I use half a batch and pour over my brownies. Perfect touch!
This is really good frosting! I added a few drops of lemon juice (I used the packaged stuff you can buy at Braums, but I imagine real would do the same) and it really improved it. It still tasted as sweet but had a less sickly sweet flavor.
LOVE this frosting! I make it with the “Thick Cut Outs” recipe from this site and always get rave reviews. Frosting is easy to spread and pipe, blends well with any color, and is delicious!! A+
Easy and delicious – used unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk in place of milk and no additional vanilla flavoring.
I love this frosting, it is so buttery tasting! I try to eat more natural ingredients and didn’t want a recipe that used shortening.
Fantastic frosting! Melts in your mouth. Even got a compliment on how the frosting was great, not as sweet as typical frosting.
This will be my go to recipe for sugar cookie icing. I followed the directions, didn’t change anything. Was a bit worried at first that the icing would be too “wet” but it dried nicely, wasn’t too hard, but could stack the cookies if necessary.
Definitely will make this one again. Really good icing recipe for sugar cookies
This is easy and tastes good. We used it to decorate ginger bread cookies. Easy to divide and make many colors.
