I love the flavorings. My only question, was this supposed to be covered in the oven? I did not, and it did turn out tasty, but maybe a bit dry. I doubled it and cooked it in my lasagna pan.
Love a casserole more than roll-ups!
Love it!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have never been able to make cabbage rolls successfully. This casserole meets the taste expectations of cabbage rolls without all the hassle. It was enjoyed at tonights dinner and the comment was “it is guest worthy”. That is a compliment from my husband!
My husband loved this dish. I made it all in a dutch oven. Browned meat, veggies, added all the other ingredients, put on the lid and baked in oven for 30 min. Only difference is I made my own Cajun spice by combining spices I had. Used much less cayenne pepper as we don’t like it too spicy. Served it with sour cream for a topping!
So easy to make. Much nicer than rolling g up cabbage. I loved adding the spicy Cajun flavors and the sausage was much tastier than chop meat. I increased the fresh garlic and sausage amount.
