Ingredients

  1. 8 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 8 tablespoons sugar
  3. 4 tablespoons baking powder
  4. 1 teaspoon salt
  5. 1 cup cubed, chilled butter
  6. 8 large eggs
  7. 2 cups heavy cream
  8. 6 lemons, zested

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until it resembles small sized peas. Whisk eggs and heavy cream together. Add to mix. Add zest. Knead lightly until just incorporated. Roll out on a lightly floured table. Cut and place on parchment covered sheet pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, until puffed and golden.

It’s a very good recipe.  The lemon isn’t very strong, but easily corrected to suit your taste, if applicable.  It’s a great recipe to use if you want to add your own flavors other than lemon.

I was not impressed with this recipe. I took advice from the previous reviewer and doubled the sugar and added lemon juice to the mix. They still were definitely lacking flavor. Maybe 3 times the sugar and double the lemon if you dare to make them.

These are good anytime but they are an extra special dish for Brunches.

These were really good with a little doctoring. They needed a bit more sugar, so I doubled the sugar. They didn’t have a real strong lemon flavor, so I made a lemon glaze of powdered sugar, cream, and lemon juice. The final product was amazing. If I make them again, I’ll probably add a little lemon juice to the actual dough since I like a strong lemon flavor.
