Ingredients

  1. 2 tablespoons good olive oil
  2. 2 cups (1/2 inch diced) sourdough bread
  3. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large (10-inch) saute pan until hot. Add the bread and cook over medium heat, tossing frequently, until the bread is evenly toasted and browned. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

I used to make my croutons in the oven and I would get busy and forget about them and usually burn them and have to start over. This method is so much easier and I will never make them any other way other than adding different spices.
