Creamy Homemade Hot Cocoa

  4.6 – 0 reviews

Pork tenderloin stew that is delicious and simple to prepare. I believe the black pepper and cumin add a great edge without being overly hot to counteract the softness of the potatoes and tenderized vegetables. If you prefer a creamier soup, you can alternatively use half-and-half or cream in place of the water.

Fabulous. Deducted some sugar per reviews. It may be great without half and half or cream, but you’ll be missing out!

It is so good i love hot chocolate

Used 1/2 cup monk fruit instead of sugar. Mixed the milk and cream in at the same time. Almost like drinking chocolate, delicious, rich and decadent!

I eliminated the half and half (didn’t have any) and vanilla so really just used the cocoa, sugar and salt with milk. Followed suggestions and used 1/2 a cup. Yummy!

I thought this recipe was the one I made two years ago, but I could’ve sworn the one I made called for heavy cream, and incorporated it into the hot cocoa-not called for it to be added to the mugs separately. So, I added the heavy cream to the mugs, but it made the hot cocoa too cool. Next time I’ll put the cream in the hot cocoa itself, and reduce the sugar to 1/2, as others suggested. Also, I added a little Bailey’s. Yum!

Wowza! This is amazing hot cocoa! I imagine this is how Judy’s cocoa from The Santa Clause tastes. Like someone else described, it tastes like a melted chocolate bar! I followed the directions except for reducing the sugar to 1/2 cup as recommended in reviews. I also used homemade vanilla paste. I’d say if you use quality cocoa and vanilla and reduce the sugar (start low and add to taste) you’re going to love this decadent hot cocoa!

No changes. Just a great and fast recipe. We are a fan of it at our house.

Used one cup of cocoa and one teaspoon of vanilla. I didn’t have half and half, so I used slightly less sugar, and squirted in a bunch of canned whipped cream. Then topped with whipped cream. Delicious!!! Next time I’ll try with the half and half.

I loved it so much because I need to do a product about hot cocoa and I came across this Creamy Hot Cocoa and I well decided to write about this Creamy Hot Cocoa. I absolutely loved my story but… It was my teachers work to grade them and she said where I got this recipe, and I told that I got it from Creamy Hot Cocoa and… She said I GOT THE BEST SCORE IN THE WORLD I GOT AN A+. Thank you guys so much for the recipe you to Creamy Hot Cocoa.

I wish I read the reviews before I made it, it’s way to sweet.. I’ll try it again with less sugar.

Five stars best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It was not too dark chocolate and not too sweet. Better than my mom’s homemade and it was easy to make. From Zach, 10-year-old aspiring cook/chef

Wonderful, and my kids loved it! I used sugar free french vanilla creamer in place of half and half.

The perfect amount of richness and it would be so easy to double the recipe for more people. I topped mine with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. My kids love marshmallows. Make it your own!

This was delicious! I followed the advice in cutting the sugar to 1/3c (I’m diabetic and I don’t like overly sweetened drinks) and added 1/2c of strongly brewed coffee to deepen that chocolate flavor. I altered the milk to cream ratio slightly for a creamier hot chocolate. The sweetness was perfect. The creaminess was perfect. The chocolate was perfect. I used Ghirardelli powdered chocolate as my preferred chocolate source (and in my opinion is the BEST chocolate to use in any recipe calling for chocolate).

I doubled the recipe and made this one cold winter night for guests in our home. I made the cocoa-sugar mix ahead of time then slowly mixed it in the milk when the guests arrived. I cut the sugar in half, as per many reviews, and prepared sweetened whipped cream for the topping. WONDERFUL!!!
Linda Foley
Yummy! Still very creamy and rich using whole milk only without half and half.
Eric Hernandez
Smooth and creamy! My kids’ favorite hot chocolate recipe so far.

Most AMAZING hot cocoa I’ve ever had! I substituted Half & Half with a shot of Irish Cream.
