Creamy Apple Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

  4.1 – 63 reviews  • Oatmeal Recipes

For those warm winter mornings with a decent cup of coffee, this creamy oatmeal is ideal. Alternatively, give it to your children with some hot cocoa. It has fresh fruit and is not excessively sweet or tasteless.

Loved it!! Perfect for this cold fall morning

This was a great recipe! My husband and I loved it. I only had a Granny Smith apple so I put it in the first step with the water, cinnamon, maple syrup and brown sugar so it would soften them a bit. I also added walnuts and a splash of half and half at the end. One of the only times my husband said to save that recipe!

10.4.21 Wouldn’t change a thing on this recipe, perfect as written. I don’t use a lot of raisins, and mine were pretty dried out, so I added them to the oatmeal while it was cooking down, and they rehydrated beautifully. My Gala apple was a bit on the large side, so I didn’t add all of it to the oatmeal. This has just enough sweetness, and the amount of cinnamon is spot on, doesn’t overpower the other flavors. Good stuff!

Made the recipe with no changes and this is my daughter’s favorite oatmeal.

This was pretty tasty with a bit of a crunch from the apples and some chewiness from the raisins. I had a continuous pour of maple syrup while measuring out the 2tbsp, so a bit extra. I also added some of the apple and raisins while simmering and the rest afterwards, with extra raisins because I love them. I added a couple turns of the salt grinder and a splash of vanilla while simmering as well. It is delicious! I also used old fashioned oats because that’s what we keep in the house.

Really good! I read reviews to make some small changes – 1 cup water, 1 cup milk. Added 1/4 tsp salt. I used a mix of raisins and craisins. Really yummy, comforting breakfast.

Although I wouldn’t necessarily call it “creamy”, I thought it was pretty tasty. I added a dash of salt and a small handful of chopped pecans. I also used Craisins instead of raisins. I made one serving size, but it was still too much for me (I don’t eat large amounts of oatmeal at a time) – it made two servings for me. Overall, I loved the flavors together and will definitely make again.

It tasted awesome! I would recommend a little bit more brown sugar though.

This is delicious as written. I have made a couple of modifications for our taste. I put the apples and raisins in when the oats are added and I use half milk and half water. This is a favorite with the family.

I used a honey crisp apple, halved the sugars, subbed coconut sugar for brown sugar and subbed almond milk for water. Was delicious!

I don’t understand how something can be creamy without using milk or cream or something similar. I found that 2 cups of water was too much, and wasn’t absorbed by the oats, even with extra cooking time added. I tried this because of the description in the title, but it was definitely not creamy at all.

Tasty. I halved the recipe using steel cut oats. Swapped out brown sugar for coconut sugar. Also omitted the raisins and used some. Walnuts instead. The flavors were satisfying.

This was wonderful!! I changed very little. I did not put in the syrup, and i added the apples and the raisins to the water right away, I wanted them to have all the cooking too. I will be making this all the time as I love oatmeal. One more thing, In reference to some of the reviews…don’t use the quick oats.

I did not use brown sugar because I was out but it still turned out perfect…5 star recipe

Good basic recipe. I like to add my raisins with the oats so they soften & plump a little (instead of at the end) and I tend to double the amount of raisins, so I add a bit more water and also a pinch of salt. I sometimes also add a few nuts OR a pat of butter. Yum! Thanks so much for sharing!

Came out chunky and not creamy.

Pretty good. However, it wasn’t quite as sweet as I like so I added a few small scoops of brown sugar before I ate it as well as a splash of milk. After the few additions it was on spot!

This is a tasty, hearty breakfast. In order to make it creamy, I subbed half the water with milk. I also added the apple and raisins in with the oats so they’d get slightly softened. Next time, I’d add them even earlier.
