Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese flavored bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped yellow bell pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- ¼ jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat, drained and flaked
- 2 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 (6 ounce) fillets grouper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Stir bread crumbs, red pepper, yellow pepper, green onions, jalapeño, butter, crabmeat, and mozzarella cheese together in a medium bowl. Arrange grouper fillets in a single layer in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the fish.
- Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until fish is easily flaked with a fork. If you have thin fillets, you can broil for 10 minutes instead of baking.

We really liked this recipe. I had to change some things because of what I had on hand. I didn’t have any jalapeños or yellow pepper so I omitted them but added more sweet red pepper. I had tilapia so I used that instead of Grouper. I did broil it for several minutes because we liked the crispy topping. I will make this again . Thank you for the recipe.
Absolutely delicious! The fish was delicate and perfectly cooked. Nicest grouper I have ever cooked,
Oh my goodness! Made this according to directions but finished off with a bit of lemon juice. It is sooo delicious!!! I had some leftover crab mix and used chicken the next night instead of fish and it was even better!!!
EXCELLENT! Used Grouper in the past, only had mahi mahi this time did not disappoint! A great keeper!
Perfect and wouldn’t change a thing. I did spray with EVOO and air fry at 400 for 11 minutes.
Best recipe on this site in my opinion and I have made more than 100. This is my go to when having guests for dinner and it gets rave reviews every time I serve it. The only thing I change is I top with slivered almonds and drizzle with a little butter after it is done and broil just to brown. Some complain it makes too much topping, I just pack it down to make it all fit on top of the fish. I serve with risotto and asparagus for a perfect meal.
Really delicious. Liked the veggies on top – different than normal toppings for a recipe like this. I didn’t have shredded mozz so I used fresh mozz.
Thought this was bland. My family ate it but asked not to make it again. Needed some cajun seasoning or something more.
Excellent! Salt and pepper both side of the fish. I spooned melted butter before and after removing from oven. Definitely double the crab recipe and add a little o.o to it . I used all parmesan cheese. Will make this again!
So so good! Crowd pleaser. Will definitely make again.
Used Halibut and made it for our dinner club. Awesome.
Restaurant quality! Really enjoyed this.
The best fish I’ve ever had!!:))
This is the best grouper dish I’ve ever had, at home or in a restaurant. I cook it by baking the grouper only in tin foil, then opening the foil, adding the topping, and broiling until it starts to brown. Phenomenal.
This is a great recipe! I’m going to add pineapple next time. I think it would make an even tastier dish.
Didn’t have grouper. Had snapper. Turned out great. Sprinkled fish with Old Bay before topping and more on top of crab topping before baking. Will make again . Next time I’ll try trout fillets.
Epic! This is one of the best fish recipes I’ve ever had. The crab topping has great flavor but for those who like spicy food it could use more jalapeño. I used flounder instead of grouper because it is what I had on hand. I did hit it under the broiler for two minutes just to crisp things up. Served with Mexican corn on the cob and mango salsa. Instant hit!
Stellar. Didn’t pay much attention to the amounts, as much as the ingredients. Broiled at the end topped with gruyere and Parmesano Reggiano. Seasoned the fish. I like a lot of flavor. Served with black beans and rice with some broiled asparagus. Solid recipe!
I followed the recipe verbatim, and it was fantastic. The crab coating was perfect. I wish I had leftover crab mixture to try making a crab cake from it because I think it would have been amazing. The recipe doesn’t call for any additional salt which had me skeptical, but it really didn’t need it at all. I would possibly cut back on the amount of butter next time – perhaps substitute some other form of fat for it, but otherwise perfect!
The most amazing fish, very tasty and easy to prepare. Every one raved about it.
The crab topping was amazing. Just not a grouper person. Next time will use on a different type of fish. Excellent recipe.
