Corn on the Grill

  4.8 – 150 reviews  • Corn

A finely flavored fruitcake that is even tastier than it is infamous for is ensured by using naturally sweetened dried fruits and a 6- to 7-week curing period. This recipe yields 4 miniature loaves, making gift-giving simple.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  1. cooking spray
  2. 5 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  3. ½ cup butter
  4. 1 tablespoon white sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  7. 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  8. ½ lime, juiced
  9. 2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (such as Tapatio®)
  10. 6 ears fresh corn

Instructions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  2. Heat garlic and butter in a small saucepan over low heat for 5 minutes to infuse the butter with the flavor of garlic. Do not let the butter simmer.
  3. Stir together sugar, salt, black pepper, and cumin in a small dish. Stir into the butter mixture along with lime juice and hot sauce until evenly blended. Brush ears of corn generously with the garlic butter; reserve remaining butter.
  4. Cook corn on the preheated grill, rotating occasionally until the corn is hot and tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Brush corn with remaining garlic butter as corn cooks.

Amazing!

The flavor was so good. The lime juice was a really interesting ingredient. I left out the hot sauce only because it was for the grandkids. I will certainly add some Texas Pete, Tabasco or some of my own canned hot sauces next time.

My family LOVES this. They’ve all said they never want corn any other way!! It’s a bit messy. But it’s a mess that is definitely worth it.

Fantastic! While I don’t think the sugar is needed (corn is naturally sweet enough), it turned out delicious! A nice mix of sweet, salty and spicy notes. I made the recipe exactly as written, but next time I will use a spicier hot sauce for a bit more heat. A keeper! I like my corn with a bit of a crisp, so I grilled them for 8 minutes.

I guess this the only way I’ll be grilling corn from now on. Extremely tasty but next time I’ll either cut the garlic in half or finely mince it to spread better with the butter. I ended up throwing a lot of garlic out.

This recipe was fantastic. I put the corn directly on the grill, no husk, for a few minutes, then moved it to the top rack to finish cooking. I will make this a regular for grilling.

This was great flavored corn in the cob. Best flavor I’ve ever had. Used the butter mixture to put on hamburger buns before I grilled them. Really added great flavor.

Oh my…oh my… amazing!! Used Secret Aardvark sauce. Very good!

It was excellent. Made no modifications to the recipe and cooked on the grill at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, rotating and basting the corn every 5 minutes. I have made 5 times this summer and everyone has raved about the corn

This is really good and easy too!

WOW! I cut the recipe in half, followed the recipe but just eyeballed the ingredients. I shucked the corn and wrapped them in foil and threw them on the grill, turning occasionally. Poured the butter mixture over the cooked corn before serving and then men were elated! Will have to do again!

Omigosh! So easy and delicious! I didn’t have any lime, but it turned out fine without. Used a little extra garlic and my hot sauce of choice was Sriracha. (A personal favorite!) Sweet, spicy and yummy! I may give the soaking that others here have suggested a try next time, as I needed up having to cook them for way longer than suggested, but they were perfect otherwise!

didn’t add the hot sauce to it but loved the flavor without it

Fantastic, enjoyed by all!

My family loves this recipe!! I just use half of the hot sauce as my family does not like anything spicy.

Making it for the third time and my family keeps asking for it. It’s a hit with the sweetness and the spice.

Great! I don’t prepare grilled corn often but I thought I would give this a try. The flavor was awesome. The butter sauce really made this an excellent fresh side. My wife and I loved it and plan to add it many more times this Summer. Thanks for recipe!

Great way of doing corn.

Delicious.

Over and over my mom and fiancé said “best corn ever” , like they couldn’t believe how good it was! I followed the recipe and added the review that suggested to remove silk, and soak for 1hr with husk and after brushing sauce on corn and covering back with husk, wrapped in aluminum foil to grill. Salty but that made it good.
