My family has been making this congealed salad as a dessert for years.

Additional Time: 2 hrs
Total Time: 2 hrs 25 mins
Servings: 9

Ingredients

  1. 1 (6 ounce) package fruit flavored Jell-O gelatin
  2. 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  3. 32 ounces large curd cottage cheese
  4. 1 (15.25 ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
  5. 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
  6. 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin orange segments, drained
  7. 1 apple – peeled, cored, and diced
  8. 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  9. 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained

Had a hard time “folding” cream cheese into jello. Didn’t care for flavor.

I have had this before and it is good even though it sounds kinda weird. word of warning, banana does not hold up well in this. I only use it if it is going out pretty quickly so the bananas dont turn color and get mushy. This is best if made on the day of use and refrigerated for a bit before hand
