I haven’t seen Bobby make this on TV, so before I tried it, read the recipe carefully. VERY carefully. And is still doesn’t make sense. Please add the omitted words!

Very, very, very good. The combination of lime cumin was great, however, I used half the specified amount of cumin. This is a very tasty slaw which even non coleslaw eaters liked. Also it presents beautifully, like confetti.

I think those who didn’t like the dressing tried it before mixing with ingredients, I followed as directed with a drizzle of honey added in and it was fantastic and got better the next day. Don’t judge dressings by themselves it just doesn’t work well.

I made the dressing exactly as written and was not happy with it. All I tasted was lime. The cumin didn’t come out at all. There was no balance – it was all acid. So I took the suggestions of other reviews and added honey. Better, but not great. Then I added a teaspoon of dry mustard (turning into more of a traditional French vinaigrette) – that was the key. Much more well-rounded flavor. I won’t bother with this again. The hot sauce didn’t add anything worthwhile and the cumin was undetectable. I might follow the advice of others and make a cumin lime mayonnaise. That sounds better.

You HAVE to add the honey, no two ways about it. Our substitutions were: using the broccoli/carrot slaw from Trader Joe’s with the cabbage, and adding the honey along with a tsp or so of apple cider vinegar. It was delicious.

Suggested alterations were discussed: Try using pureed mango in place of the honey and make a mango dressing. Adding some jicama to the mix. Adding chayote. Perhaps green onions in place of the red for the onion sensitive.

Regardless, this recipe has been pinned, and I guarantee that I will be using this again and again for potlucks and parties.

I think there is an obvious error in the recipe. It says to put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth….that might make an interesting soup for the summertime actually, but I think you want to leave the cabbage, red pepper, red onion, and cilantro out of the blender,,,and pour the dressing on them…I have made this before and it is slammin’ I am an editor and I simply can’t let this go unnoticed…

This is a staple for me now. I think I saw it on his show and I’m pretty sure he used a pinch of sugar, but I can’t find the recipe I wrote down. Sounds like others added a lil honey, great idea. I use it on tacos, as a side dish, everyone loves it! It gets better overnight, so make a bunch :
